hi folks,

made my first batch of bubble bag hash last night. used a 2 bag system borrowed from a mate (not sure of the fineness of the meshes), took my time stirring with a wooden spoon, got quite a lot of material in the bottom bag but on closer inspection it was quite green, i ended up squeezing some water out towards the end as it was getting late and taking forever to drain. also, i didnt rinse what was left over with clean water which i read would wash off excess plant material. i dont mind having to smoke it like this as im sure it will stil get me fairly cained but i am just wondering:

have i left it too long to be able to put back in the bubblebag and flush with clean water? (it has been drying in paper towels on cardboard overnight, i broke the nugs up into a smaller powdery substance an hour ago- felt fairly dry but still had a slight dampness. i read that bubble hash should be left to dry for at least 5 days before thinking about pressing it so would i be able to chuck it back in the bags?). i would prefer this method if its possible but dont want to completely ruin what ive got if it wont work.

if it is too late to chuck back in bags i was considering using cellophane off a cig packet, puting the powder in, wrapping in damp paper and banging in the oven for 10 mins before pressing with a rolling pin. i did this on a previous crop where i had dry sifted the trichs rather than bubbling them. is the subtance going to be dry enough to press after only drying over night or should i dry for longer before attempting this? (will it affect the pressing quality?) etc

any advice would be really helpful

anyone??

More green it is, the more leaf matter there is, To stop this you need finer meshes to catch only the trich's.

is it possible to re bubble this though to refine the trichs and get rid of some of the leafy matter? not really keen on turning it to oil, would prefer hash. can you not rebubble if the material is semi dry or is it ok? is there any loss in quality/taste/etc?

No, its too late to wash now. You should crumble or chop the hash as fine as you can from the off and allow it to dry on the card as you say for at least 5 days. You might find as it drys the colour will change anyhow...
As Pieinthesky said its more than likey the colour is down to the type of bags you've used. I was gonna say you thrashed the material too long but you've mentioned using a wooden spoon, this is the prefered method so unless you've mixed too hard for too long the bags are the prob.
Also i wouldnt say your end product is ruined, just a little plant matter in it and it will do the same job as if it was purer.

No need with bubble, even tho you've a little plant matter in there it should press fairly easy without the need for heat. Try pressing it in polythene inbetween two bits of wood under a heavy object or even in your shoe for a couple of hrs. Again, wait for at leat 5 days before pressing, its surprising how long it retains moisture even if it feels dry to the touch wink.gif You can press while still wet, sometimes its easier but you run the risk of trapping moisture inside. One way to combat this is stick it in the freezer for a few hrs, what moisture is left will make its way to the surface and appear as little ice beads which you can brush off.

I wouldnt worry to much tho, im sure its still a good smoke, just make sure its bone dry before you puff it tho.
