do you think i would get away with this or would i be best investing in a dehumidifier, cheers guys

def not ideal especially in flower.

i bought a dehumidifier due to high r/h, never looked back
now sits a 40-50% or whatever i set it at.

if u can't reduce r/h with ya enviroment alone then a dehumidifier does help.
did for me anyway.

good luck...................tcc

I'm presently getting away with it, sort of, often worse than 70%RH during lights off.

I have been losing a little bit each harvest since my first tent grow in the cellar which was about 10% to 15% lost. Strangely enough I'd been growing down there for years before getting a tent and never a hint of mould, the RH could touch 90%. Something to be investigated there, I'm thinking negative pressure is not all it's cracked up to be.

Last harvest was a scrog, got a tad over a gram a watt despite almost an ounce getting binned. With those getting chopped tomorrow, free range not scrog, less than a half ounce has gone. My take is that it costs less to grow those mouldy buds than it would cost to save them using a dehumidifier. If you are really short of space the costings might be different for you.

If you haven't already, get a heater in there for lights off, makes a big difference but remember to tape up any neons.

A tool I would not be without now is my datalogger, gives me a minute by minute graph on temps, RH and dew point. Could try something and the next day would know exactly if it helped or hindered. Took a few months to get to the compomise setup I have have now.

Another helper is using silicon, helps the plant fight the mould I've been told, certainly a big drop in mould when I started using Liquid Silicon as pH up but I'd done lots of equipment alterations as well.
