Hi again all

I have a rvk 150 L fan which I bought secondhand, and it came with a dimmer switch to regulate the fan spped. It works OK, but I really need something that will automatically adjust the fan speed according to the temperature. Do I have to buy a controller and then add a thermostat or can you buy them with integral thermostats?

As always, any help is much appreciated.

Hi Infidell

I suppose, but without the price tag! Plus I read on one of today's posts that they're not much cop. I know this has been asked before, but can I use a central heating room thermostat wired up to a proper speed contoller? Would do a search, but I've already got a headache from tying to find the info on here.

Thanks evans. All this technical stuff does my head in! Oh sod it, I'll get a fan controller, and I've got a room stat knocking round here somewhere. But I'll have to ask for help wiring it when the time comes!!

Why not just plug the fan into a plug in thermostat? wink1.gif

Just put Winterwarm ET05 thermostat plug into google or something and you will get what you are looking for guitar.gif .

That thermostat will leave your fan either on or off, that's not what you want really. Take a look at the sticky from OT1 on top of the DIY forum, it shows you how to add a heating thermostat to what you already have. It's really simple with a diagram to follow, you can't go wrong really.
