Hello all!
Ok my grow room is 3x3x8' high, using the calculator in growroom tools on here my 600hps is giving out 72 watts per square foot and 10222 lumens psf!
I read in a pdf book that ganja plants have a light diminishing point at 50 watts psf unless c02 is added can some one tell me if this is true?
The reason being is I am planning to mylar my grow room but if the above statement is true would I need reflective covering on my walls?

50 watts is need to bud efficently
i think its 100 watts they need co2

not sure though
if you can control your temps then you will be fine with no co2 with that light in that space
what reflective got to do with it ?

get that mylar up

Ok mylar it is then!
Cheers was just unsure if the extra reflection was needed with that much watts psf!
gonna see if i can get a lift to my local hydro shop! Otherwise its a bus job first thing in the mo!
Must be the cold weather im 28c constantly so far without using the proper way of measuring!
Could you tell me if mylar builds up the heat in any way?

There is no reflective material that causes 'hot spots' or 'heat buildup',it's a bullshit growshop statement made to make you part with your money.
If you install Mylar treat it like wallpaper, meaning install it completely flat or you are wasting money and in fact white emulsion is better than badly installed pricey stuff.Carpet fitters glue spray is good to use or even wallpaper paste.

I grow at 37.5w psf, 600w into 16 sft, does me ok. Easier to get 20oz from 16 sft than from 12 sft ime.
I had a bit of a lesson in the value of reflective walls recently. I'm now thinking that it is best if the light bouncing off the walls matches the light coming from above.
My theory so far: If plants are short of light they will stretch to find it but where do they stretch towards if the light coming from the sides is equal to the light coming from above? Where would they stretch towards then?
So far my 2nd go with a parabolic reflector in veg is looking good. It's placed higher than last time and instead of stretching badly they're growing just a bit wider than they are tall.
