Hi everyone, I have 4 WR's in a small NFT, they are nearing the end of week 1 of 12/12. From the second week of veg one of the four started to get burnt leaves at the bottom, gradually this has spread to the other plants and now through most leaves up and down the plants mainly on the tips.

The EC has been around 1.0-1.3 and my basic tap water has an EC of 0.5 included in those readings, my PH has been fairly stable around 5.5-5.9 although that has dropped to 4.7 over night. I'm using the Canadian Xpress one part nutes for the first time.
Can anyone advise what I should do please.

Cheers
jiffa

Ok chaps, I've got a few pix without the light this time. I added some salts to the tank last week hoping that it would improve the problems but I dont think its worked.

What are the temps in there?

edit: Also in your Profile you dont mention any extraction.

are you checking the ec daily ?

how many time have you changed the res ?

something aint right thats for sure , do you have extraction ?

I have an RVK100 running and the temps are around 27-30. The EC was very low, this problem started in week 2 of veg and im now in week 2 12/12 The EC was around 1.0 with a tap water EC of 0.5 After I added the salts the EC shot up to about 1.5 but that was expected.

The res gets a change every 3 weeks.
jiffa
have you tried upping the feed

whats the ec doing daily

temps could be lower <28 would be good. To me it looks like nute burn.

3 weeks is pushing it, best to replace it every 7days, 10 at a stretch or the plants start to look like shit. remember dead roots , gunk, and solid deposits of nutes that the plant cant take up are just recirculating in the system.

Edit: Then again could be nutrient lock out from high EC, try dropping it.

I have the exact same problem only i'm growing in compost, i thought it was light or fan burn ? maybe i should check PH though i thought compost had a large buffer capacity ?

What is the humidity like in there, they look like they are drying up from the outside in, could be to dry if you only have one rvk 100mm. Your R/H should be 45% to 55% during flower.

Good luck, poor things need it,
