Hi all, I am building my first grow wink.gif room using a 1 x 1 x 2 dark room grow tent, after hours of reading i have decided on the following set up.

tent as above
ventronic digi ballast 600w
cool star reflector
400w sunmaster MH bulb (for veg)
600w HPS bulb (for flowering, 5 day HPS & 2 day MH)
Maxiswitch two way light controller
2 six inch desk type fans

Where it gets difficult for me is humidity and air circulation, From what i have read it seems preferable (cost aside) to use exhaust and intake and i understand the concept of negative pressure. So wheres my problem? Well the tempreture is gonna need some contolling in the tent and so to keep neg presssure both intake and exhaust fans will need a contoller if using fan speed to controll temp (I may have this all wrong).

Basically after seeing Ruck fan with built in temp control i am trying to understand if this can be used with a intake fan (how do u keep neg pressure?) or am i better with two independant fan speed controllers for both exhaust and intake fans.

Also (showing my inexperience here) how do these fans work, can u switch the direction of air flow so u can have both fans outside tent?

And lastly it says in alot of places that u should exhaust from the top of the tent but surly its the fan that sits on the bottom that counts or do u hang that near the top as well and how does all this fit in with the cool tube, do i need a 3rd fan? ah i'm confused with this rofl.gif

Any comments or help would be cool, thanks in anticipation

Hmmmmm.
Ok. You'll need a timer to go with that light controller.
You can get a climate controller. I've had one a few years now. It will control both inlet and outlet fans, letting you set the tick-over speed (and negative pressure) independently on both fans, and when your maximum desired temperature is reached, it will turn both fans on flat out until the temp drops a degree or two when it goes back to tick-over mode.
No need for a temp controlled ruck with one of those, and to be honest, I'm not sure how useful they are, although I've never tried one.

Air is traditionally removed from the top of the tent because heat rises. wink1.gif Inlets tend to be brought in lower down, but are often, as is mine, blowing on to the light shade to take the chill out of this wintry air..

Oh yeah. smile.gif There's no need to reverse the flow on the fans, you just turn them around. wink1.gif

[Edited to add: And........ I knew there was something missing.... Carbon filter! You'll need one of those.]

Thanks for trhe supper quick response, how good is this website.

So climate control will look after both fans great. Are they universaly compatable to all fans?

Am i ok then to have both fans outside tent, my intake attached to the cooltube and the exhaust sucking air from top of tent?

The tent is in a fairly large room will i need a window open (don't fancy that in this weather) or will their be enough fresh air in the room i am exshausting to? Is that where co2 releasers come in?

Nearly ready to get started!! excl.gif yahoo.gif
