Hi all, just got my 4' ruck and phatty and ideally i'd like to have the filter connected directly to the fan but with both of the ends being slightly different sizes and both metal, using a jubilee clip isn't going to work.
Any ideas? I did a search and read about a fast clamp but im not sure what this is...
thanks!

get some ducting that would stretch enough and then tape with duct tape

ducting is prob your best bet as this should stop any vibration be transferred through to the filter

Great thanks - i've got 5m of acoustic ducting but I read somewhere that connecting the filter directly to the fan will reduce vibration. I'll go for ducting for the mo. thanks all.

As jiffa says, just tape it on.... I used aluminium foil tape for mine

You can buy a
'reducer' .... designed to connect say - a 150mm ducting to 125mm fan/filter.
Just checked in Greens - a little pricey tbo ...£7-14 squid - depending on size ....
Have a look...Laz

Its not a reducer he needs a dont think, i'm presuming your fan n filter are the same size n theres just no way to connect them directly as there identical sizes.

ive had mine conected for 12 months with duct tape , as long as you support the fan and filter it will be sweet

Yea the problem stems from both outlets not being exactly the same size...its going to be duct...or duct tape!

Either would do but me personally i use ducting and jubilee clips, to me its prob the safest most secure way.

Usually, the filter is securely tied or fixed to the frame of a tent. When the fan is stuck rigidly onto this, it transfers vibrations through to the frame, or whatever. So, having ducting reduces that. I think that's the best way.
