Hi everybody,

I am restarting my hobby after a 5year hiatus and am in the process of getting my stuff together. I was disappointed to see the largest tent/room is 3x2metres in size and I wanted one a bit bigger, plus a cheaper alternative, is there is any.

My question:

Is there an alternative to splashing out cash on a growroom, for example is there a non-grow item that does the job nicely, for example a friend said maybe to buy a gazebo and use the frame of that and wrap with black and white, mylar etc. I thought this could possibly be a good idea in theory but wanted to ask some experts. another friend said ot just buy some wood and build the frame to the size I want, then wrap in black&white and mylar etc.

Does anyone have any other ideas or opinions on the ones above?

Any advice would be greatly received.

Thanks in advance.

Blessings

why would you need a tent at that size?

Just seal the room, build a few frames to hang stuff...

There's thousands of ideas out there lazarus mate, pre made and bought straight from a supplier or get out the tools and knock one up yourself, I searched High and low for a tent that i could fit in the space where i just ended up building my room, as i could not get the exact dimenions etc. that can be achieved with a DIY effort. A DIY tent like your suggesting could be done but again the frame would have to be home made to fit your space.

I suggest you think about what you want from your grow (Good green i know) but like, how many plants? is a start as it will help you choose your floor space, What strain as hieght is an issue, what lights, fans your using etc. Then see what your options are, Pre bough or DIY.

But there's loads of cheaper alternatives for grow room materials at local DIY stores, thumbsup.gif and it could turn out cheaper building your room than buying a tent. The gazebo idea your friend suggested would probably work but i am not sure on the smallest sized one's (as i am guessing your looking to grow indoors?) might be too large to fit in your house?? unless your filthy rich and space isn't an issues. lol.gif Maybe a camping toilet lined with Mylar? (you know them tented toilets really just a lid for a chemical toilet lol.gif, know what i mean?

The room i ve just finished building cost around £90 to build, thats for Wood, fans, ducting, paint etc. isn't the greatest but it works for me,

Hope i helped thumbsup.gif

If you are going to bother to build, build a room. Buy a tent if you want to save time/money (time = money). It's a lot of work to knock out a room unless you are really proficient at it. Tents are really convenient and very esy to control the air (keeping bugs out).

There are bigger tents out there. I believe the Dutch have them. You can also use multiple tents.
