Hello all, I will be building a carbon filter next week and I would like to know everything I can before I get started.

Couldnt find much about it on the KB or the forums, so if anybody has links, pics, tips, etc... will be much appreciated. I will have to use off the shelf materials btw

thanks! stoned.gif

There are loads of designs on this very forum!.... search Titles only for carbon filter in this section only.... if its being discussed in here it's likely to be a DIY job.... Raz has one on here, so has Dr Rockster and I among many others have posted one up too

I made a big one using some of the info on here and it works great.

ETA: to buy one an equivalent size or even smaller would have cost me about an extra £150. Yup I'm sure its not as good as a shop bought one but I could afford to over size it a lot and it works fine.

Just for smell mate, does nothing for temps and if anything, reduces the power of your fan slightly!
All your filter is doing is what it says "on the tin", filtering smells from the air before it exits your ducting!

If your temps are to hot you need a bigger fan mate or need to get better intake from outside, to better regulate the temps!

Have you got an inlet fan and an outlet far or what?
