Ok, My temps with lights on in my tent are around 20.9c. Now they are on 24hour at the minute in veg so there isnt a big problem.. yet..

With winter setting in, i plan to buy a tube heater and leave it on the floor in between the pots. Now im shit with wiring, i wouldnt even like to try and do it myself as im more of a danger lol.gif.

What should i be looking to buy to get my tube heater to flick on when lights go off.

A timer? Temperature controlled thing..?

Thanks smile.gif

I went to B&Q and just bought a plug in thermostat that turns the heater on/off depending ont he temp you set. Works very well, about £12.
jiffa
a standard timer rofl.gif like what you use for the lights , without the contactor

set to the times your lights are , but when 1 goes off the other comes on

Plug in thermostat sounds gooooood. think i'll be picking up one of those. Are they good/accurate?

I use a horticultural heat mat during the winter to heat my pots from underneath 9 i'm v tight on space tho). You can get away with cooler temps around the vegetation if your soil is kept warm. Theres all sorts of heat cables you can get to lay around your plants too.

I wire my contactor so that the light is off when the timer is on.

As well as the advantage of having the solenoid pull the contacts apart, more reliable, it also means I can plug the heater into the same timer using an adapter cube.

They are accurate yes, but with all things like this is depends where you put it in your grow room, as temps vary greatly within that space, play around with it not plugged in (it has a seperate battery) untill you find a place that gives a good reading, and then see if you can run an extention lead or something to that point.
