Well I harvested 2 of my White Widow last night. Only problem is my neighbours sent my wife a text asking if we was smoking weed in the hall way as they could smell Weed on their landing. NOT GOOD. We get on ok with them and they know we smoke it when my friends come over but they said they had never smelt it like this before. I was Harvesting at the other end of the living room to usual but theres no way the smell should go thru the shut door hallway and 9 inch solid brick wall. Bricking it a bit now as Iv'e still got more in the garage and thinking of pulling the plug for a bit.

you got a decent cf ? if not get one now, stoned.gif

harvest does generally stink the house out but i just make sure i harvest near my cf with it running at full blast spliff.gif

edited to add, just read your profile, you do have a cf but is it a good quality one ? id trim them in the garage next to the cf stoned.gif

Yeah I got a decent CF but its in my grow room which is in the garage. But I was chopping them in the house. Theres not enough room to cut all the leafs and prep the buds in the grow room as well mate.

Most doors have gaps and thats all it takes, especially if the air is moving through your house. Is it not possible to trim in your grow space, if not try some sort of draft excluder.
GreenFunk
Yeah was thinking maybe next time I will have to shove a towel at the bottom of the door.

Better get the onions and garlic boiling

yeah thanks for your replys guys. We just told them one of the lads had brought some real stinky weed over and must off gone to the toilet a and took the j with him. She said her husband looked as if he wanted to come round and join in the session. That could of been harder to explain if he had popped in with 2x 4 foot white widow chopped up on the table. lol.gif

I'd go with what others have said - try to get the pressure differential lower in your harvesting room, so the smelly air goes outside rather than into the flat and underneath the front door. Might be worthwhile putting an extractor fan in your kitchen/harvest room pointing out the window, also turn on the kitchen extractor? And definitely put some draft excluders around the front door, maybe even a damp towel on the floor.

Also cooking popcorn, a curry, anything with garlic to mask the smell might help.

Another solution is to harvest in your tent - sit outside and chop and trim inside, with the extractor on - kind of like a harvesting booth. At least you get the benefit of the CF then and some proper extraction.

Failing all that, get an ozone generator...but they're like 200 quid or something silly...

Next time get a hot pan of oil cooking and then throw in a load of dried spices, will stink your whole house out with curry smells and mask the smell a bit wink.gif

Decent recommendations here. I would strongly recommend not harvesting where you can be seen from your front door if it had to be opened. Set up a work station near your tent so that odor is pulled into your tent and through your cf.

Fresh cut pot is exceptionally pungent! The odor will go everywhere unless you control (vis a vis cf). In addition, rather than trying to "cloak" the odor with stronger odors (problematic at best) it is better to deactivate the odors. This is what they do in public restrooms and large public areas to keep offensive odors under control. Many growers here in the states (including myself) use these techniques and they work very well.

In public restrooms typically they have an auto sprayer spraying a deodorizer periodically. This, according to what I have read, disassembles the odor on a molecular level (which tends to destroy the deodorant as well so more is needed, hence periodic sprtiz). What I use are deodorant gels made for pet smells in the home. So not only do I have a large extraction system going on, I also have these gel containers scattered through out the house.

This works well for me as putting boiling oil particulate into the air is not good for me lungs! Also you want to stay away from an ozone generator unless you set it up really well. It can be harmful to living tissue (yours and you plants).
