hi guys......im gonna use tigers for the first time....i know how to but my question is this:

is the tiger nut syrup in the tins of frenzied monster tiger nuts PVA safe- can i pit it in a pva bag?

Lennon
Im pretty sure the syrup is water based so would be no good with PVA.Ive only ever used tigers Ive prepared myself though so Im not 100%.

nah no good , but you could use abit in your stick mix or tip abit over your pellets what you use for the bags

just to dampen the mix

If you wanna use tigers/Hemp in PVA, the night before you go put your bait in a sandwich bag or similer and cover in Sunflower oil(Cheap) or any fishing Oil...The next day the bait wont melt PVA and it will still sink.

Caution:Only use this method in Spring/Summer when the water warms up or the Oil could harm the fishies....

You can buy PVA friendly tigers, but they can be expensive. Best way is to drain off as much liquid as you can, put your tigers on a towl and give them a little rub with it to dry them off, then put them in a bucket and coat them with an oil of some sort. I personally use a PVA friendly tiger juice from my local tackleshop.

hemp oil is good in warmer whether

in colder weather try salmon oil with a dash of ming oil wink.gif
salmon oil works well in low temp compared with a lot of fish oils, and is easily sourced - feed tigers soaked in this for a few weeks and you're laughing, although it'll be an instant bait

if you haven't yet used the giant french maize (sixe of a 50p, twice as thick) give it a go - c'est le business mate, as they say en france

hi guys... i thought this thread was dead! i have used giant maize b4 didnt get on with it....
i tried the tigers in the end but had more luck with tiger nut flavoured boilies with about a t spoon of peanut oil in the pva bag smile.gif

One thing I have found with using tiger nuts, is less is more. Have never done well over a bed of tigers. If you can find the fish and get a single tigernut on them it can be deadly!

Be lucky.

same here mate
I like to fish a few tigers with a big 'un on the hair over fairly small beds of boilie, tigers (whole and chopped) and giant maize that ive prebaiited with. Spoding some groats and hemp with a lil rock salt after each fish and adding just a few bigger baits has worked well for me
I'd use boilie on 2nd rod, simple knotless rigs.
3rd rod fished off the back with a single grain of giant maize, for the big girl whistling.gif
Most/all rods fished heavy safe running rigs, unless snagy, then its clips to drop the big lead.

dont give up on the giant grains mate, had me first three 30s on those lil pale beauties (after two and a bit decades of fishing and a few months of using it thumbsup.gif ) time and again its the g.maize, over boilie and tigers, hemp and groats smoke.gif

gl guys - how did you get on with the tigers? catch rate change at all?

Best thing to do is use the stuff in the bottle with your bags n just dry your tiger nuts on a tea towel beofre you put them in the bags

yep but dont use peanut oil when its cold .

a few posts mention towels...

i always have one in my rucksack as it makes using pva much easier if you dry everything out also handy if you get caught out with no bog roll to whistling.gif

i think tigers, maize and hemp are the best baits ever. Had my pb on maize over the top of hemp :]
