hey all
having a lil problem wonder if anyone has any ideas
i have an nft setup with 3 plants.
my problem is that of the 3 plants, 2 look great but the other looks like it hasnt been watered in days.
anyone got any idea how this could happen(its the plant closest to the inlet thats failing)
any help would be great
cheers

well are the roots reaching the film that the water is running down on that ill plant? may need to hand water until the roots reach down far enough to suck up the moisture/nuts. Outside that i haven't ran an NFT yet so i'm not 100% sure on all the issues that folow them. is there a way to move the plant a bit down the fixture, or a way to extend the tray so it's not as close to the falling water? sorry just some ideas =/

did you run it before you put the plants on ??
might be pooling near the inlet i always run more of a run off and if the trays wider then 2 bits of matting ..id run 2 inlets get a much better spread of water with out having to turn the pump flat out hence pooling

How fast do you have your water coming out of the nozzle?
When I used to run NFT I'd pull the nozzle right back so most of the water went straight back into the tank and just leaving a very slow trickle falling to the spreader mat. Otherwise, I found, it was just too wet.

its most probably the opposite, overwatering from being too close to the water and having no roots to dry up the cube.

Is it getting enough light?I had the same problem, turned out the 2 healthy plants were blocking out the light to the 3rd one.Good luck.....

he all
quick update
the plant turned yellow fully before perking up and is now half green half yellow and a little droopy(not as bad though)
big problem im having now though is that i have loadsof purple leaves on the other 2 plants
does this mean anything/ could this be what caused the early sickness of the first palnt?
thnx

decreased water to almost a drip
That might have to increase as the grow goes on and the root mat gets bigger.

whats you temps in the res and room temp??
MightyEvo

hey
just added a fish tank heater as temps in the res were freezing
set it to 20 degrees C
added a heat sheild/defuser thing to help as 1 of the plant heads under the bulb was burnt:(
poorly plant now about 75% yellow
dont think it'll perk up
weirdly the buds dont look stunted at all(though stem growth seems to have stopped quite a bit shorter than the others)
will update as soon as i know if any of this helps
cheers
