Got back from dam a few days ago....thoguht I'd share some of my favourite smokes.

Best without a doubt has to be smoking temple ball from willie wortel's and bubble ~1 from dampkring through a bucket bong.

Seeing that much smoke, you're kind of wary but I took it all anyway.......

dr.green.jr asks "how is it man?"

Im unable to speak for a few seconds, anyone ever get that from buckets?
Well to cut the story short it was *good*

Fucked, harder than I've been for ages, for *hours*

Give it a go.
Serj
mmmmmmmmm, sounds delightfull. i aint done buckets for years, dunno if my head could cope with it anymore. Maybe getting old or something?

Mr F, sounds quite cool that you can do buckets in a coffee shop. Is it done the same way as we/I do buckets. i.e 3ltr soft drink bottle in a bucket/sink/bath???

I've been to the dam once or twice myself and can't imagine going in to a coffee shop and asking for a bucket. I don't know if it's just the dutch way but I always feel really unwelcome. i try to be sensitive to the fact that i'm a tourist and that many of the locals must get a bit peeved with us english coming over and hitting things to excess, but even so, the welcome never seems that warm.

How do you find the locals attitude?

locals are very friendly, you can interpret it as unfriendly when heavily stoned and suffering from "The Fear" but overall they're lovely.
We did the buckets in our room, not the coffeeshops, I dont know of any places that have them but there are all other kindds of bongs, vaps etc.

the 2ltr bottle is what we used, but 2ltrs of bubble smoke still f*cks you up.

well although it wasnt my and the good dr's first visit, we were with 3 dam virgins so the trip kind of degenerated into the usual ganja buying madness, you know how you end up with baggies and you cant even remember what they are or where the ganj was bought?

I used the volcan in barney's for the first time, having only previously used one in the Worthing coffeeshop tent at jay day, that thing was awesome. We did hits of bubble and temple ball in it as well, my god, its bad enough with the skunk!

Also had a decent go on the massive vap they've got in the hemp mueseum, I've heard its not new but I didnt see it last time I was there. It was certainly good.

As for the smokes, there werent much I hadnt seen or smoked before but as always, it's all good in dam.

One night we used up all the baggies we had left in a fat cigar style blunt that I racked up, god knows how much went into it, at least 4+ grams and it was ridiculously intense.
In all a good trip, the only downside for me scene-wise was seeing how many coffeeshops were being hassled about licenses etc. Barney's is well tight on IDing everyone and bluebird was shut, I cant remember if it was for licence issues or not. Either way a good trip, as they always are!

I've just got back from Dam on Monday morning - we (my wife and I) were virgins but we did a bit of research before we went. Bought some amazing Yellow in Blues Brothers. Tried AK-47 from Twede Kamer - that stuff is worth the hype and some cry.gif. I have to say it was a lot more expensive that I expected - 6 to 8 euros a gram. Which works out to £124 to £168 an ounce. I buy round here for £20 a henry which really peeves me for gear that is nowhere near the quality over there.

I felt this exactly, next time I go I am going to seek out some more out of the way places - I found the whole experience so intimidating - all the pissed up Brits hanging out of shabby hotel windows shouting, loads of strange looking people behaving like they were in Vice City - I didn't like the lack of police presence or lack of restraint restraint in the place. The dealer in the Greenhouse effect gave me shit about my eyes and it was about then that I thought I don't really do tacky tourism.

We also went in 36 - I really liked this place - and we went in the Dolphin the place with the shittiest break a hip stairs in the world but the most comfy seats to mong out on when wrecked on AK47.

I liked the weed but I could easily do without the rest of the tackiness that goes with Dam. I think we must have just hit the tourist area just like every other Joe. All the drinks were expensive and small. I would love to find an out of the way quiet but friendly place to go and meet like minded people not loud tourists out on the raz. We have a place in my town that doesn't do weed but it is a small coffee shop that you can go in and all the people are chilled and it's a very welcoming place to go and chill I didn't find anything like this in Dam.

Martin.

hi weeds & ilmg

i stear clear of the "pisshead places" unless it's to go round the red light parts..... wink.gif i'm only a window shopper, but it can be fun at night......
avoid it like the plague in the day,
we take a tram in one direction, then make our way back.....
stopping in the cafe's that we find, there's loads of little places,
usually side streets and usually with a pinball and football game.....
just like our cafes but more relaxed.....
loads of different cultural decor aswell........mexican,african,turkish,

anyone want a nice dutch steak and pepper sauce,
go to the prince hiendric bar left side oppostie the station,(it's at the side of the hotel of the same name..)
tell them sittingrelxing sent you, he'll look at you and ask you to pay,
as they dont know me as sittingrelaxing..... lol.gif

hi J... dude, i dont know what youre doing wrong!! (no offense mate, just kidding around)... but i find the dutch one of the friendliest people i have encountered.

im living in switzerland at the moment which reminds me a lot of holland (very very relaxed dope rules here)...

i feel a bit bad saying i think the dutch are ace where you appear to have had a cold reception...

maybe im just so out of it, everytime im in the dam, i just wouldnt notice if someone liked me or not...

you got me think now... but ive been to the dam about 15 times now... love it...my next home maybe smile.gif
Mr_Friendly
I think the durch generally are friendly but obviously right near the centre you are bound to have people being slightly sick of stoned/pissed/horny tourists everywhere.
Try going somewhere less commercialised, grey area, bluebird and willie wortel's in Harlem (a short train ride from CentraaL) are all very chilled and low key but sell the best damn ganja in the place.

Act cool and dont be a dick. In Barneys which is very touristy they always always ask for id and I look under 18 despite beign 19 but once I'd showed them my id and bought some weed they were really nice to me all day and very attentive and kind. Dont act too stoned if you can, they dont like people falling asleep and if you're going to spend ages in a coffeeshop make sure you buy drinks and stuff not just weed as its courteous, especially in a place like barneys where seating is at a premium.
Dr.Green.Jnr
yeah, i always but at least one drink in every coffeeshop, gotta remember theyre a buisness and not a session at your mates house.

i loved the volcanoe vaporiser at barneys....i think if i had one of those id never smoke another way again really.

would have liked to try the blue moonshine bubble hash at dampkring, but unfortunately it wasnt on the menu anymore sad.gif

good trip, enjoyed myself, but i feel myself becoming more jaded to the place with every visit now.

found a nice spot to stay outside of the city now, dirt cheap, lovely location in the woods, and only a 10 minute bus journey to centraal; mainly europeans rather than english plonkers staying there, as to be honest i get embarresed at the brits abroad in any location, let alone somewhere like amsterdam.

had a day of shroom taking as well, decent quality, although seeing as identical produce can be found in almost any uk headshop these days, or better grown by your own hands, hardly a treat.

still, not saying im not going again, just a change of perspective of the place.
I_L_M_G
Care to share the details of the place you stay at?
Dr.Green.Jnr
hahaha, not likely mate; i hear that the hemp hotels practically impossible to book these days.

this ones stayin under my hat, although im sure were not the only people to go there.

back to peoples attitudes in 'dam, i find that the dutch are often less welcoming than the brits that live/work there, the dutch can come off quite cold sometimes, whereas the english always seem chilled out.
sadly, the british visitors are a different story. Hill street blues is one of my favourite coffeshops, but at 4pm it fills up with the english football crowd... they really give us a bad name, and like many have said already do make me feel ashamed to bo british sometimes...
but thats just me...
