hello all,

Im currently thinking about growing about 4 plants. The plan is grow them in a 1x1x1.8 bud box, I have made a decision on all other parts to buy except for the light. After some research it shows that a digital ballast seems to run more effieciently and also runs at a lower temperature... It seemed at first when digital ballasts were introduced there was some problem with radio waves, but apparently that has now been fixed by putting in a metal cage to trap all radio signals. The current digital ballast im looking at is the one on greens, i was wondering if anyone can comment on this light? I also wanted to know whether it is possible to put another reflector on it? Any help will be greatly appreciated!!

If your talking about the BAL models, yeah the reflector can be changed quite easily. (guide here: http://www.uk420.com/boards/index.php?showtopic=77650)

I own a 400w bal, done a good few grows with it - no problems (the armoured cable prevents RFI)

Do you think there is a significant advantage to the standard magnetic ballast?

They are supposed to be quieter, run colder and some makes are dimmable
