Hi guys (and girls),

I'm a total noob, just getting into my first grow. Basically I'm looking for a cheap sativa strain that wont grow through to my loft biggrin.gif (there height room for about 4-4+1/2 ft of grow). I'm having no joy, so thought it was worth a quick ask smile.gif (I've searched lots of related strings but not come up with much).

have a look at scrogging then you can pick whatever you want

look at the mini malawi's from afropips, finish at approx 1m if you flower them from seed.

I've managed to squeeze some quite pure (80-90 percent-ish) Canna Biogen sativas in my relatively small space by bending 'em - I think they ended up about a foot taller than the nearly-indicas ...

As for 11 weeks flowering .......
smoketilluchoke
martian mean green

i think ticks all your boxes

and is some AMAZING SMOKE

Have to say, this is a fantastic forum. I'm a member of a few large forums (non grow related) and it's fantastic that there's a busy English grow forum full of great info smile.gif. Cheers for the replies guys.

I think I'll go with Kwazulu Zaden, and start to read up on tying down or scrogging (they could well be the same thing lol.gif, I haven't had a read yet tongue.gif). Seems to fit the bill. Tiny bit tall, but seems to get good reviews, and I really don't want to spend £50 on seeds for my first real grow, It's really an effort in trial and error. If all goes well I might one day never have to buy dealer weed again smile.gif.

how about this one, meant to be short in flower time and height and has the fun of being a ladrace with a little bit of history?
kwazulu

or

mini malawi

Actually before I buy, are you sure it's a short plant dude?, I can't find much on it in regards to height.

KAli Mist?!?!!?

Serious seeds are v reputable, great M/F ratio and good germination rates. And the quality of the finished product is v good.

Also DNA do some nice satties...as do their sister co. Reserva Primera or something.....

just my 2p worth.

I've given up on the "holy grail" varieties.

The most I ever paid for seeds was £65 for a packet of Sensi's "Silver Haze" - maybe the first "super sativa hybrid", and I was very disappointed. The first few I grew were indica phenos, the next grow I got phenos similar to skunk#1.
They were completely bland flavour-wise - and I wasn't even sure I was getting high on my harvest...

Just lately I've grown two packs of Canna Biogen seeds and had no problem accommodating them in my tight space. The most sativa amongst them have really clear highs and are tasty - lemony, piney, one of them lavender flavour.

Which strain in particular dude?. I just googled 'canna biogen seeds' and There seem to be a few different strains.

I'll also have a look at KAli Mist and super silver haze. Cheers for the input guys.

Does it have to be pure sativa?

If not, the sativa dominant (80%ish) White Widow has a very sativa, uplifting, supercharged, euphoric high. It's easy to grow, and is so far one of my favourite smokes. Seedsman's gold range of WW is about £20 a pack. Good for a newb (like us) as it's cheap thumbsup.gif

......and a much better option with that much headroom.
IMO you should leave the sats alone and grow out a hybrid like WW for your first grow. Learn your craft first and then go onto the exotic stuff.
Whatever sat you grow is gonna stretch and controlling them in 4 1/2 foot of space is not going to be easy if you take into account pot height and room for the lamp.
A crop of WW or similar is not going to disappoint you.

White widow was actually one of the first strains that I looked at. 80% Sativa is perfectly fine. I'm not trying to eliminate what I understand to be Indica traits all together, just aiming mainly for a Sativa high. I've ordered some Top Skunk 44 which might well go in the next wardrobe along (which is about 11ft tall - built in, in a victorian house type of thing) after my smaller grow pans out. I'll have a look at some more WW grows lol.gif. Cheers smile.gif.

Hmm, so I went with seedsman White Widow. Bought a pack of 5 feminized. The thing is only one popped (oddly enough the scrawniest looking seed). I didn't go with the tissue method because tbh I figured I would undoubtedly mess it up somehow. So I went with John Inns no3 in a small potting pot, 1 seed in the center of each pot, watered every other day so that the pots remained nice and moist, but not too wet. They were placed on a shelf above a warm but not hot radiator. That's been 10 days now, do they take longer than that maybe?.

"And there is always Oldtimers Oldtimes or Smile"
I thought smiles was the only one still might be available? but smiles is a meant to be short with an up sativa high.
