Im 4 weeks into to flowering with 12-12 and for some wierd reason my lights did not shut off, So the plants ended up getting around 20 of light, as soon as I saw the lights were on I killed the power and know I dont know what to do????

They should be fine if you just carry on with 12/12 from now. It may slow them down slightly but not by much if at all. Do you know why your lights failed to turn off because you don't want to make a habit of it

i'll put a fiver on that you weren't using a contactor with your timer

I dont have any idea why it failed I have a nice digital timer swich but looks like im going to get something new, I really thought I fuc*ed myself when I saw the lights still on I have heard stories of people saying how there plant got interupted and the leafs started growing circles.

This is my first grow so I am new to lots of things, I have never heard of a contactor??

yeah don't worry, everybody does it

basically grow lamps put too much of a load on the timer, so it literally welds itself on, so you need a contactor which is basically a heavy duty switch, then your timer switches the contactor on, and the contactor switches your light on. ready made cost about 20 quid

And some digital timers require a combination button press to start your preset program or they remain in manual mode. Check the manual to be sure. Mine has an auto mode and manual mode. DAMN THING DEFAULTS TO MANUAL when changing times or back up batteries.
