The greatest thing about owning a next-gen console is that you know you won’t be needing to upgrade that puppy to play the latest and greatest games on it. Gone are the days of the Nintendo 64 era when one had to go out and buy the Expansion Pak to increase the console’s memory from a whopping 4mb to 8mb, just so you can access all the bells and whistles of Perfect Dark. No sirree, we gamers of the 21st century expect to be able to play all the latest games on our beautiful next-gen consoles until the day the post-next-gen consoles are released. At least that is what we want, although we see a danger for the Xbox 720 and PS4 all the same.
So when it was announced that GTA IV was going to be seeing its inevitable iteration on the PC, keyboard and mouse gamers around the globe started saving their spare change in case they required an upgrade. Well the news is in today that said PC gamers who haven’t had the chance to play GTA IV on a next-gen console will not have to necessarily break open their piggybanks to enjoy it on their gaming rigs. In fact, most PC gamers will get to experience it for cheaper that their console brothers!
The recommended specs for GTA IV are; Windows XP SP2, Dual core processor (Intel Pentium D or above), 2GB of RAM, 18GB of hard drive space, a 512MB Direct 3D 10 compatible video card or Direct3D 9 card, and a DVD dual-layer drive. All things considered, the recommended settings could have been a whole lot loftier.
For the PC exclusive crowd out there who haven’t had the chance of playing GTA IV yet, look forward to exploring Liberty City later this year.
