Went out for the first time on my brothers boat yesterday after a month of sea trials.
Built from scratch 18 months in the making.

The weather was absolutley fantastic but the fishing was poor, a couple of small whiting a codling and a ray.Still a fantastic day was had.

was meant to be having a potter about on father in laws boat today.. engine trouble..

im telling you im 100% sick of fiddling/repairing outboards.
why oh why didnt i go for 4stroke!!

9.8horse mercury.. ancient but used to be reliable.. of late its let us down twice and now ive got no confidence in it

4horse evinrude.. also ancient was a non runner.. me and a mate stripped it down last summer and after a nightmare couple of weeks sourcing parts and getting dirty and majorly annoying the neighbours with reving and smoke it worked well for about a month then coils were breaking down. fixed that something else went etc,etc. now wouldnt even trust it as a back up

5hp yamaha .. almost brand new was nearly £800 2 years ago.
used it all last summer and it never even once looked remotely like it would ever let us down.
last weekend nearly had to call lifeboat cos the fucking thing started playing up

i swear now im not gonna bother with boats till i can afford a decent size one prefferably with inboard and a brand new 4stroke outboard as back up!
