Hi guys needed a bit of heat in my grow room on light out so decided to get an oil rad and a room thermostat as I have seen some people have used this setup. I have looked on the forum and there is some wiring advice but seem to contradict whats on the leaflet I got with the thermostat.
Here is what I've got :

the brown from your socket goes to number two, the brown from your rad goes to number 1, all other wires connect to each other (i.e. blue to blue green to green)
what you could do is have one length of wire from socket to rad, long enough to go from your socket up to the thermostat and then down to the rad, where it reaches the thermostat, CAREFULLY cut around the outer insulation so about an inch is removed exposing the inner cores, cut the brown wire, then connect the plug side to terminal two and the rad side to terminal 1. i'd draw a picture, but i don't have paint on this thing

Spot on mate just wired it up now and its working perfectly, thanks alot

you saved me a big headache. Just also wondering the tent is sitting in a spare room the rad wont fit in the tent but if I stuck the thermostat in the tent and left the rad close to the tent would it heat up the tent when the thermostat switchs on ?

is your air intake from the room the rad will be in? if so your air in the tent will be the same as the air in the room, so it'll depend on if the rad is man enough to heat the room to your desired temperature... if the air intakes from somewhere else, then i doubt it'll do much to help
