hey all. sorry if theres already a thread covering this but i've looked and cant find one. I've just chopped my girl a couple of days earlier than i wanted cause i noticed the tops of two ( she was FIMMED successfully ) of her main buds were looking a bit sick. now she's been trimmed ready for drying i've spotted the problem as bud rot, so i've cut back the affected area and binned it. very upsetting, i hate waste sad.gif . my question is should i quarantine the affected buds from the rest of the crop whilst drying or is all the damage done now. I'm not too clued up on bud rot so dont know what causes it. if its mould or fungus i'm guessing i should keep it away from the good stuff. please help before 5 months of love and care go to waste. thanks all

Keep it away from the good stuff.

But more important make sure the conditions are right, like plenty of air movement around the bud, a dehumidifier turned on a low setting also helps.

just following on from my other thread, I was wondering what causes bud rot, is it fungus, mould or lack of air movement and high humiditypr all of the above. anybody know?

Why did you not make hash from the bud that you have bin'd
A Puffin
bud rot is fungus/mould etc

Similar thing as when fruit rots.

if you are cutting things, disinfect scissors, razors etc with hydrogen peroxide or weak bleach.

Botrytris(sp?), a fungus.
The environmental factors you mentioned above contribute to budrot (botrytis). wink.gif

thats well annoying that its mould, should have guessed really. I was gonna give hash a go with it but not now after twullhc's post, sounds nasty . oh well a bit of quarantine and waste and all will be well again. still got a fairly good crop out of her, cant wait to wheigh it up after drying. Oh just one more thing, will the mould still keep going after its dryed or does it need the moisture to survive.
