Hello,

just thought I would post some pics of my growroom as it is the first one I have set up & i am pretty chuffed with it. 13.gif

Its in a downstairs toilet (toilet removed! wink.gif ). I was going to set up a growroom in the attic but a like minded mate saw the downstairs toilet & suggested I use that room instead. I pondered for a while spliff.gif , then realised that as the room was not in use (kids wont use it cos of spiders & no heating) it would be the ideal location. I removed the toilet & got a new flexi toilet pipe to go into the sewer hole. I then fitted a fan to the flexi pipe, some ducting to the front of the fan & a carbon filter on the other end. For the air coming in I removed the trim from the inner window sill which opened a hole into the wall cavity. I then blanked off the window with a piece of board which has a four inch hole cut into it & the silver flexi hose attached dropping down to floor level. (The window also has a cheap pull down blind on the inside so any nosey parker cant see the duct hole through the window ph34r.gif )

its been set up for three weeks now & my babies have been put into flower for a week so far.

I have had to put an extra oscillating fan in to try & lower the temps (gets to about 82 degrees at the end of 12 hours lights on) unsure.gif

anyway, here are some pics :-

Welcome minter.
Good idea for the area and the vent , but first if that's a hps or mh lamp i'd get a contactor (or make one for around 15 quid) then a shelf about waist height for the ballast . check for lightproofness, then jobs a good un thumbsup.gif

Thanks tremont, I have been looking into getting a contactor, just waiting for pay day (only a week away wink.gif ) as for the ballast, is it better at waist height? I have been checking the ballast temps & it is cool to the touch (smaller oscillating fan on floor blows directly at it)

I also checked for light proofing & its great - no light gets in or out (stood inside daytime with house lights on for about 5 mins & still couldn't see my hand right in front of my face cool.gif )

You should have kept the toilet in. You know you need to flush before you smoke it?

minter, i'd keep the ballast up off the ground purely as a safety aspect.

thanks for reply Tremont, will put shelf up tomorrow for ballast, with ref to the contactor, I have just been reading through the linked thread (very helpfull) but someone on there mentioned fleabay & I have just looked on there & found an Envirolite 22 amp lighting timer & contactor for £12.95 + £1.95 postage. That seems very cheap to me & just the job (not the 40 to 50 quid mark I was expecting). Anyone used one of these?

Hello, I used to grow in my toilet too!

But it was in use (not during 12 hours lights out tho lol.gif)

Sadly the police stole the whole fcn lot before I got to use it... sad.gif
