Hi All,

Just about to take a big batch of cuts for my second grow, I've worked it out that to have the buds dry in time for christmas I only have 7 weeks to root and veg the cuts before flowering. That is some considerable time but I don't want to take any chances. spliff.gif

To help speed up rooting, and to give my clone box some good heat anyway, would it be a good idea to place the prop on top of an old dvd player or something like that that gives off a nice warmth from the top?

Any thoughts would be much appreciated!

Cheers, DB.

if i use a heated prop at this time of year , my clones tend to dampen off and sometimes start to mold cry.gif

be careful

Yeah I can understand what you mean, in my situation though I have my clone box next to my tent with a 600W in so the bedroom gets cold because of the need for cold air going into the tent.

I put it in the boiler room thing.
Some people place it on a radiator on low, or above a radiator.
Should be alright in a fairly warm room though dude.

Hi yes i have heard that heated bottom of propagator is good i never tried it as its hot enough here round 30c in my closet so i am more like getting heat down than up and bottom of propagator is on wood not on floor ,but its a good idea why not if u dont have high temp.problems IMO

Cheers for the swift replies guys!

The room is ok in the day but as the clone box only has a 125w enviro it does get chilly at night. Weedio, you mean airing cupboard? Do they need light when they're rooting? If so then that would be a problem as I couldnt get a light in my airing cupboard.

i dono what u mean but light is on 24/7 till u see rots coming out is that what u mean? unsure.gif
Mr P
Hi mate,

Keep the cuts in an un heated prop this time of year under light for 24/7, if you do put the prop on a heat source make sure you keep the temps under 28oC inside the prop wink1.gif

Good luck yinyang.gif

Ahh right, cheer hb. I normally use 20/4 for veg so as soon as theyre nice rooted should I put them on to 20/4 then?

Thanks Mr P, think that if I do have some kind of warmth source at all it will only be on at night anyways.
Herbal Kint
yes when they root out u can put them on 20h but in small post like 1l ,last time i put them in 2l and they where growing to slow cuz to big pots 34.gif
