ello mate lookin nice n tidy, well built. i use 125w ecolite cfl`s for starting seedlings and veg, and if my leaves touchy touchy they get burny burny! they still get hot enough to burn your leaves mate. they can get about an inch away, just not touching.
Grimweeder
nice one man, id run the electric outside the box though jus in case of water an moisture, otherwise its a wicked lil drobe,
if u wanna flower stick to sum pure indica strains theyl stay shorter generally.

Your going to have to put a light baffle on that fan if your going to try to flower in there though...

You got any ideas on a light baffle? I get what your saying as it will fuck up the 12/12 if light can get in! plus add to "stealth" lol.gif. so you know any simple solutions??

mate of mine had the same problem, if you can get your hands on or buy a second hand wardrobe or summit and convert it, it's a much easier way, but adds to cost, but you would be paying for timber anyeway so.... plus you also could get lucky and get like draws and stuff for all your nutes! and shit! so your cush, help you when your baked looking after your plants you'll never forget where you put anything! v.gif

i noticed you havent got any air intake holes either ?

theres a few threads about light baffles & passive intakes to help you out.

That fan is intake, so will i need extraction??

If i was to say put a fan in that is exactly the same as the one i've got in there but so that it would draw air out would that help? this would obviously be oposite side, and maybe lower down, wiring it shouldn't be a problem,

Let me know! v.gif

Whats going on here? Yes you will need extraction, yes you will need a light baffle for both extraction and intake, yes you will need to do something about the smell (carbon filter or similar). Maybe you didnt read all the thread Leepy mate but this is hardly 'bang on'. I'm not meaning to be harsh but there are some basic enviromental conditions you need to take care of before you even start, theres no point in sugar coating it.
rushton69
You want the intake fan low down and the extraction one high up, im looking for a corner cupboard to buy and convert myself at the minute.
Looks really good mate, well done.

Ouw! whats your beef mate??

Nah just kidding, well i know i am not a user people look out for when i post etc, but i am all over this site, most nights trying to get things sorted out, and soak up as much info as possible, i am far from finishing this box, it still leaks light mate, i am not completly bone idol, but in all fairness, people post Grow journals, growbox builds step by step, look at leepy and his efforts to dig to china.

I posted the pictures off my box so that i could be told what i need, what i should have, Hell even things i don't need. I ve got seeds, but no soil no pots so i am NO where near my grow! I am not like most noobs where i steam in germinate my seeds and end up planting them in backgarden soil because my prep work's not be done, and i haven't taken long enough to plan a good grow setup. So you can be as much a "critic" as the next person and tell me what you think i need, but surely leepy can say whatever he wants about whatever he wants. or anyone for that matter, Freedom of speech and all that!

I understand you weren't trying to be harsh but you jumped to a conclusion so quick it came across as harsh! The Growbox has been built for nearly a month now, and i am still trying to sort it! (bit by bit when i get the time, i work as well you kinow) and will upload more images when i get the chance. i am away for a week so may be 2 before i do any more work to the box lol.gif.

Nausicca, Can you see where i am coming from? or does that all just insult you? cause it never meant to. yinyang.gif

No worries. Were all different, can't blame you for being you! lol.gif,
so what do you think would be a good way to sort out this air circulation problem?

I might be getting my hands on another 2 fans so i am expecting to use one as intake, and the other as outake, as for a carbon filter i am going to have to look into that it never even crossed my mind as i was not bothered about the smell i might like it lol.gif. i
Nausicca
Erm, there was a thread where someone made a carbom filter out of a biscuit tin and some cooker hood extraction material, ill try to find it tomorrow, im drunk atm sad.gif
GrowAlone
I am actually going to move the box to a different location so a carbon filter may come in handy if there's a DIF i am all ears, but i am not looking to spend a load,

That biscuit tin idea would be sweet! there's a open and leave (sortta like a cheap airwick thing) at my locat grow room, but wasn't impressed, the bloke said it helped nuturalize the smell, but it seems a bit piss to me! any help?

Hi mate

I used a box really similar to yours for my first grow

What just done is looking sweet so far!

I'd use 2 125w cfls at the top of the box, maybe 1 red and 1 blue or both blue than change to both red when flowering time comes.

Using 1 pc fan for intake (at the bottom) and 1 for extration (at the top) will be fine as long as your temps don't get to hot, you need a recirclulating fan in the to help the air move around inside, I used a tiny desk fan. Just ran the fans 24/7.

Installing a carbon filter on something so small is tricky, i didn't bother as the box was at the bottom of the garden in the shed. It did honk a bit in the last couple of weeks of flower rofl.gif I wouldn't recommend it if your growing indoors pinch.gif

Have you decided on a strain yet?

Best of luck!!

I am shifting it Tonight actually lol.gif, to an outside shed thingy its in my house but it's not, you can only get to it from outside and its a back garden, so i was hoping that would help with smell, Was thinking of some sort of cat urine thing, thats how cheap i am willing to go! lol.gif.

as for strain, i am using california special, its a nooby recomendation lol.gif! my mate started on these seeds and it was some ok smoke, now i ve been bitten by the growing bugg, after years of telling my mate, "there's plenty dealers man, getting pintched." lol.gif
GrowAlone
i've started my 2 california specials in my grow box, but it's getting heat of up to 30C, i ve got two 12v Pc fans, i ve made them now so the lower one is intake and the higher one is extraction, i ve also got a 9 inch desktop fan in there running 24/7, but this is still getting temps of 30!

I am starting to brick it as i have to water twice aday just to keep the soil moist! but what i am really worrying about is these plants are definatly in for some heat stress!!!!! i've been leaving the first door open

I though the "outside-ish" location would help but i am risking noisey neighbours peeking threw my fence!! that helped but like i said it's these cheeky neighbours!!

i woke up one morning to the neighbours kids playing a game quite like tennis with a football! from my garden to the next! i hit the fucking roof! but i wasn't arsed about them being there there kids i was worse trust me! but still all it takes is for me to forget to lock the shed and "Boom!" my efforts are wasted cause these kids, trust me, future thieves if not worse! so they wouldn't think twice about peeking in me shed thing! but that's abit offtopic.gif but still i need a way to help cool my grow area or i am looking at one of two things,
A) a heat stressed pair of plants,
cool.gif no plants cause during my efforts to try and cool the room by leaving the door open, i get seen by some noisey little bastard!!

Any suggestions? maybe an intake into my Grow room? pulling fresh cool air. Hurry up winter i need your icey breeze!! lol.gif
