Full Version: Afghan x skunk, any ideas?

I'm looking for a super potent, stable hybrid strain, preferably with afghan and skunk genetics, fairly balanced but leaning toward the indica.

i was thinking of doing anesthesia but i think it is mostly indica from what i've read and could be too stoney for me.

Does anyone have any ideas?

Well, this is purely speculation, but seeing that skunk no1 is where a lot of dutch vars come from, I would try replicate something like that.

Maybe a Afghani x SE Asian

Liiiike, hmmmmm Real seeds Mazar - i -Sharif x Some S.E Asian

Whatever you do choose, I would try to steer clear from crossing dutch x dutch - as it has already been done and is not doing the genetic pool much good.

Try to use landrace or vars that have been around in one place for a while. You would get a nice hybrid vigour by crossing 2 landraces from diff parts of the world.

Just my thoughts.... but this is what I will be doing soon

Remember, skunk is afghani x colombian x mexican

Try....maybe Afghani x colombian var x s.e asian

I reckon that would be nice with a decent selection and stabilising.

I wouldn't say anesthesia is full on couch lock...I reckon it will tick your boxes wink.gif

Oooops I seem to have misunderstood lol.gif

I thought you wanted to make yer own tongue.gif

Pls ignore me 31.gif

making my own strain is well beyond my means at the moment nea.gif this is my first grow.

the idea of growing a landrace strain is quite appealing though. any suggestions for landrace strains that fit my criteria?

I was up all night searching for the perfect hybrid. At one stage i was ready to order NYC Diesel (from dr hemp, i can't afford soma's prices)
....and then realised it takes too long to flower, the germination rate isn't good and it's probably too tall for my grow space (60x60x140cm)

So now i'm back to square one, in need of some sleep...and the builders have just arrived 34.gif

I want something that has that thick, heavy, fruity flavour, a powerful and complex hybrid hit. A good yielder, short flowering time, indica dominant with afghan genes but uplifting and cerebral at the same time.

I know i'm asking a lot and it could take me years of growing and searching to find the ideal strain for me but i'm hoping you guys can come up with some ideas to get me going on the right track. Some of the weed i smoke (even stuff that's obviously from a good grower) has very limited medicinal value to me.

Maybe growing 2 different hybrids would be a good way to start...but most of these beans are so damn expensive g.gif

any ideas for things to grow alongside the anesthesia?

I would start off with the anesthesia, it sounds like you will like it.

It is very reasonably priced - under £20 for ten and you can get them by sending Joolz a pm.

The beauty of the anesthesia is that it is from a hybrid of Positronic's Afghani skunk and Herijuana.

You therefore get many different hybrid phenos, ranging from the lighter to the more heavy smoke.

You could just grow them for a start. Grow all ten seeds and you may end up with 4 very nice but different smokes, slightly leaning towards the indica.

you could always get something a bit special and ask Joolz if he has any Oldtimer1's Smile seeds left.

There has been excellent feedback about them.

I like the sound of the anesthesia and the idea of having different phenos. I'm just slightly concerned by the pictures i've seen in grow diaries. They all look really leafy with quite small buds. I hear it's a decent yielder but i don't have much space and i'll probably be using only a 250W hps. I'm wondering if a strain with a tendency toward larger buds might be better. unsure.gif
Idle Hands
Mr Nice 'Devil' is Afghani x Afghan/Skunk

Kulu - Afghani Skunk (you only get 5 but they're cheap)

Anesthesia as already mentioned, never tried them but I have grown Herijuana, which is great.

Seedsman - Hindu Kush Skunk aka pot of gold

They're just some that I've seen to have a good rep, not grown any of them to give a personal opinion.

Hope that in some way helps!

I also think the Anesthesia would be a good choice on what your asking for.
Btw your post says you want it leaning towards the indica but then say it may be too indica? you dont want much!
No seriously for under 20 quid I think youd be in with a right shout of finding what youve asked for.

"hybrid strain, preferably with afghan and skunk genetics, fairly balanced but leaning toward the indica."

as for super potent and stable, Id say definatly not stable yet and super poternt Ill have to wait an see. ATB 908

thanks for the suggestions guys. Mr Nice is out unfortunately due to budget restrictions!

my current selection is;

5 x original skunk number 1 - from seedsman (these look like good value for money and should be an interesting strain to grow)

5 x POG - from flying dutchman (i've heard very good things about this strain and its medicinal qualities)

and 10 x anesthesia

that should keep me busy and hopefully provide enough variety and the right sort of genetics wink.gif

dont go on a budget. pick a good potent strain. it really hurt me to spend £85 on NYC, but its something ill be growing for years. ive also got medicine man (aka white rhino) and warlock which ought to make some nice hybrids
skunk #1 good value for money? not if your smoking shit weed.. i was thinking maybe a g13 hybrid, as someone else also said.

but only you can create the 'perfect' hybrid pimp.gif

I hear that. Actually i've just been looking at MNS and some of the prices aren't bad at all. Maybe i will go with them.
