Hello.

my plants have been in the flowering period for 3 weeks now.

The lights go on at 9am til 9pm.

Tomorrow however the lights will have to go on at 6.30am.....I have no way around this.

Does anyone know if this is o.k as just a one off, and if I should still turn the lights off at 9.00pm or 6.30 instead.

If I turned the lights off at 6.30pm, would I then be able to go back to my original 9 til 9 cycle the following day?

ANY HELP would be much appreciated. Thanks.
KC
Yeah just turn the lights on at 6.30am then turn them off at 9pm, then go back to usual the following day. Once won'thurt them, and like you say you have no option. I assume you're running without a contactor/timer 34.gif

Yes, i am running without a timer, but I am defo' gonna get one tomorrow.

Thanks for your help, its eased my pain. Also.........

I have reached the maximum height I can put my light, which is about a foot or less away from the tops.
I have heard the light really wants to be about 2 feet away.

The top leaves are pointing upwards, but don't look too damaged, in the way of scorched, etc.

Is this o.k do you think? soz to pester you with all these questions, as you may have noticed this is my 1st grow. Thanks again

Dunno what sort of lighting you're using, but if it's HID or Enviros then you're also gonna need a contactor as well as a timer or you're going to be getting through stuck timers and messed-up lighting cycles until you get one. wink1.gif

We don't know what sort of light you are using mate, it doesn't say in your profile. If you are using Hid lighting then you need a contactor or else your timer will keep fusing together because of the inductive load that Hids have when they start up. Look for contactors in grow shops (link at top of page).

I can get my light to about a foot away but i only use 400watters, thats with a fan blowing on them. If you use a larger light then i'd expect trouble at that height.

The lights pointing upwards is a good sign as far as i've ever noticed. I love it when the leaves pray to the light. If the lights are a foot away and you're not having problems then you're fine as long as the stretch in flower has finished?

All the best

If you are running out of head room and think you might have a problem with temps, then you might want to consider running 9 pm to 9 am...

a one off interruption in the light cycle wont hurt them

I guess my timers have built in contactors cuase I haven't lost one of'em yet and they've been in use for atleast 8 months solid of "on and off's" unsure.gif
