Hi Uk420ers!

A recent chain of events has inspired me to start researching growing. I'm looking to build a nice little budbox out of wood just to grow a couple plants for personal use.(I am fed up with dealers). I just have some questions after browsing through the forums and multiple other websites. First off the space that I have is about 1.2mx1.2mx1.75. I'm not used to the metric system I live in the states but that would be about 4feetx4feetx5feet including the rafters. I'm just looking for some good experienced growers to answer some questions. My goal is to base my box off of Church's growdrobe in the sticky post.

first question: How tall do plants get? I know that different strains grow to different heights but hot tall does the average plant grow?

second question: Lighting - I'm thinking about a 400w HPS light? Would a 400w HPS light be substantial for my first grow of maybe 2-3 plants and not burn down my place?

Third/Fourth question: Smell/Ventilation - How much odor does one plant produce? I live in an apartment and my concern is: Will the people living next/above/below to me be able to smell odor that my box produces? I've read there are certain fans that reduce odor? I'm also confused on fans. It seems like there are a million different fans that a box needs. How many/what types of fans do I need? It would be AWESOME if someone could explain to me the purpose of: Inline fan... Carbon Filter... Clip on fans.. exhaust fans... etc..

So far thats all I can think of. Any advice/responses would be greatly appreciated. I'm looking to finish research and set this thing up within a couple weeks from now.

welcome to UK420 mate.

I built my grow box out of hardboard and joists to fit in with existing joists that were there in a garage .must admit I got my inspiration from the canadian grower Mr Green.

My room specs are almost exactly the same as yours only my height is 6 foot 6 inches.

I would recomend growing pure or nearly pure indica's with your height limits.

A 400w hps will be great for only three plant's that you suggest growing.

I personally use rvk fans for both my intake and exhaust. 100m for intake and 125m for the exhaust which is attatched to a carbon filter.. also your gonna need some type of oscilating fan in there to create a gentle breeze for your plants to mimic nature.

I would HIGHLY recommend that you use a carbon filter to control the smell of these plants as even one plant can stink out your apartment and others close by .
