Hi everyone,

I'm trying to build a mum/clone box out of an old wardrobe (classy pine veneer and everything! rofl.gif ). It will measure around 100cm x 60cm with a height of 100cm. So volume will be 0.6 m3.

What I have at the moment is a budbox tent. It has Airforce 100mm fans on intake and exhaust. The exhaust pulls through a carbon filter and blows out, through my air cooled reflector, then out of the building.

The intake pulls in colder air from downstairs shower room through 1.5m of vent tube and blows into tent through an airsock to stop pests entering.

What I want to do is use the intake fan as an extract for the new mum room. However, I still want to use it as the intake for the tent.

So, in effect, I'm adding a 0.6 m3 sealed box into the 1.5m of vent tube before the intake fan. The mum box's intake will be passive tube from the shower room as before.

I hope that makes sense. I had to put my spliff down to write it - phew! wink.gif rofl.gif

Now the question......... will this work? What effect would putting a box into your fan vent system have?

Obviously I know it will not be perfect - but consider two things. Firstly, the light in the mum room will only be a 125W CFL which gives off very little heat. Secondly, the existing intake fan is running at 30% max speed (through a primair) and could be boosted significantly to increase the pull through the box.....

Any advice?

Cheers,

Z.

Sounds very similar to a setup i used in my old flat and it worked a treat. I basically had my main cabinet with a half height cabinet placed on top of it. the Top (smaller) cabinet had a passive inlet and the outlet sucked straight into the bottom of my main cabinet before being sucked through a carbon filter and spewed out the top. Total volume was probably approaching 2 cubic meters and my 4" duct fan did the job fine at full flow. Temps were a little higher but you can compensate by having lower wattage bulbs.

hope thats of some help anyway.

My new setup is almost identical. A tall tool cabinet for flowering and a workbench with doors for my vegging and mums. The vegging done under flouros with 12cm pc fan for intake and a passive duct at the top leading into the tool cabinet taking small amount of heat and smells with it. Tool cabinet will be 100mm extract and a couple of 12cm pc fans and passives for intake.
