Full Version: Too late to plant Lavender?

I have about 5 canna plants in my greeny(1 sat, 4 ind doms) (along with 10-15 or so tomato plants). I'm gonna need something to mask the smell come ripening point.

Could I buy lavender plants now? When does lavender smell? How many would I need?

OR any other suggestions would be appreciated, if I can't find anything, I'll have to hook up a fan+filter (something I dont really want to do).

Cheers peeps

Will try and get a ready grown one then, do they grow wild in uk? Bit short of cash, thinking maybe I could go and dig something up and bring it home (or is that wrong?) Any other wild smelly plants native to uk?

Thanks mate

Why not mate? The big cooperations are chopping tree downs like no tomorrow? And then they have the cheek to make a profit from it. rofl.gif

I think I'm entitled to bringing stuff home from the wild... Hardly gonna destroy the natural cycle of things.

And I'm not talking about digging up 6ft trees here, just the odd little plant or cutting, can't see any harm in that tbh.

what am i missing here unsure.gif

Eco-systems are delicate, you may tip the scales by removing something from the wild.
Best bet for smell masking is a scented geranium mate somewhere near the entrance, everytime you go past all you can smell is that plant. Easy to take cuttings to sell onto other growers. They really are VERY effective smell maskers. I'd recommend orange flavours as these are strong and pleasent smelling, the lemon ones can get a bit "cat piss"
They can grow quickly to a huge size.

There are many other places to buy them from the above link is intended for demonstration purposes only, just came up first on google search:)
