I need some advice! I've just switched over my plants to 12/12 (yesterday) and in typical super noob style I just realised that I'm going to run out of space if i leave the plants as they are! eek.gif Since I've never topped a plant before I want to check with you all before i cut it...

Should I ...

A) Top it where shown in the picture?
cool.gif Don't top it, but try to bend it over instead?
C) Top it where shown, AND bend it over?

I know it sounds like a silly question, but I'm really not sure if its ok to top this plant once it's in its 12/12 light cycle?

Oh.. I should also mention that these plants were REALLY bushy so yesterday I trimmed off many of the fan leaves to increase light levels. Will topping it now be too stressful for the plant?

Thanks for any advice you can give! thumbsupsmileyanim.gif

You havent totally f'ed up mate. However, its not something you should have done. The fan leaves will be used by the plant to catch rays so it will survive but you *may* have slowed down its ability to grow a little

Also, i would second the tie down over topping

You'll be alright Major cool.gif

She'll put out a few more leaves in flower too, but don't cut no more its a no no for bud development... The only time you wanna trim'em back is if they are so cramped that the leaves are touching each other and you can see a notable ammount of condensation building up between the touching leaves... But like infidell said she'll be fine, and in your case you may have stunted some of the verticle growth your concearned about... good luck with her thumbsup.gif

The plants were getting quite cramped in there, that's why I started cutting, but I definitely went a bit OTT. I won't make that mistake again. I promise I'll make a point of showing you the buds when they form & before I harvest wink1.gif

thanks again! biggrin.gif
