hi guys
im having a spot of trouble with my bubble. while extremely potent cool.gif , it doesnt seem to wanna press very well.

for eg - i made a gram of bubble altogether with the 1 gallon bags, dried it in the filter cloths over some tissue for absorption and used a rolling pin to roll it down. Then, a few hours later, i kneaded it in my hand and made anice chocolate brown ball from it. all good, but the next day my ball was breaking up into fluffy resin, getting all over my fingers and not sticking together! i was losing too much resin so wrapped it in some foil and left it. another prob is i only get about a gram of bubble at a time as i cant in much more trim. is this normal? anyone else using 1 gallon bubble bags? unsure.gif

anothert thing - i pulled on the drawstring of one of the bags to tighten the knot and it snapped!i was quite shocked as its meant to be made of real good material and i didnt pull that hard... just a warning to people out there- dont pull too hard! the string isnt as strong as it looks. sad.gif

any help out there guys?any methods for pressing small quantities effectively so they dont crumble into resin fro whichever shape u rolled/kneaded them into the previous day?

Firstly, if your bag has a fault send it back and ask for a new set. These bags are the most expensive on the market and should be the best quality. I'm sure you'll have no problems with an exchange.

What you get out depends very much on what you put in. I grow mainly White Widow, which is heavy on trichs even on the fan leaves. But even from my 5 gallon set, I only get 6-10 gms and thats from 200gms of trim!

Getting it to stick - Once you've given it the rolling treatment start compressing it straight away. I simply do this by hand , rolling inton a ball, pressing it flat and repeating until it's all bound together. I here some people put it in their shoe and walk around on it for a day or so, but I haven't tried that myself.

Hope this is of some help.

Cheers

Hi DS

Only just seen this.

When you say the drawstring snapped when you pulled it, how much force did you use ?
I've just taken 3 random bags from stock and pulled the drawstring with more pressure than was really needed and all I got was tighter knots unsure.gif

Its also important to make sure your bags are 100% dry and 100% clean of all plant material before you fold them up and put away, otherwise they are likely to rot.

If none of the above applies, then you are welcome to send them back so we can inspect them and replace if needed wink.gif

i have heavily used 5 gallon bags... i couldn't break them if i tried (and so i shouldn't at that price!) and i'm talking nearly a kilo of trim each harvest. and that only equates to about 3 - 4 grams of product for each 100g, and each 100 goes through the process twice.

don't let your product dry out too quickly, like your buds it should be dried over a few days. once it's totally dry you have no chance of keeping it together because it's just dry trich glands with no moisture to hold them, but you could try a short steam treatment (a few seconds at a time over a boiling kettle) to make it more pliable.

you need to press it...... wink.gif

i used to use the plastic casing off swan filters....

twist one end fill with hash, use a clipper end to push down,

twist the other end,so it's sealed, then put in under something heavy....

i put it in between 2 pieses of flat metal plates, then put it under my bed's castor....

i leave it a week of so, but the longer the better.......

the plastic that's used for toffee apples and flowers,

is good to get it totaly flat, just like in the dam.................. smile.gif

thanks for the replies guys
i was giving it the rolling treatment and some kneading by hand to make a pretty snake or ball but not enough by the sound of it..

ok, so my average yield seems ok, bout a gram from 30 grams of trim... the only problem is that's all that will fit in there at a go.. anyone got 1 gallon bags for comparison??

joolz- i undid the string to loosen the bag a bit. then i tied the string back into a knot over the bucket, and pulled to make sure the knot was secure... i didnt use that much force, just enough i thought to make it secire. i dont want a replacement, i tied the string together and it works fine smile.gif i wasnt expecting it at all, thats it. but thank u for testing it on your bags, probably just a one off.. and yeah i dry them thoroughly, paid way too much for it to rot , smile.gif hehe

thanks for the help guys, been busy so couldnt check this earlier.posting some pics of the new babies in the indoor pics forum, check it out smile.gif

peace and thank you
