hello people.
i shall be heading up north with a few friends, near by Fort William on Monday morning for a weeks trip fly fishing!
between us we have 10 ounces of bud, and i went and got myself some fine scotch whiskeys to sip on while
im up there ... i got a bottle of twelve years aged signature Balvenie, and a bottle of quarter cask laphroaig

im going to be taking my fly-rod and reel, and going to fish the waters around the great Scotland country!
i shall be taking a camera so i can take pictures of around the scenic countryside of Strontian and Fort William,
and to obviously take pictures of my catch!

i love this fishing lark!

Good luck mate, ill ask a few of my mates if they know any good fishing spots on the way and up there also, there will be a good few am sure as u go rite up by Loch Lomond and u've got pools for big pike around the golf course etc.

Further up theres a few rivers that run into Loch Lomond more for fly fishing a quess, theres actually a shit load of fishing spots on the way up there, i'll try n get a few names for you n stick them up before Monday

Ye thats up at Fort william a think never fished it tho, if ur looking to stop of at a couple of places on the way up u could fish the River Falloch it runs into Loch Lomond am sure its the same road u take up to Fort William(A82) its got some good views n a few bits that i would think would be good fun for fishing.

The Falls of Falloch (Rob Roys Bath Tub) is a good site to see if its nice no doubt there will be people jumping in above the falls theres some calmer water.

Theres loads of places to be honest best prob to ask a few locals in a pub

I'll try n find out some good spots, a few of my mates go up that way fishing



Aye too rite cause they'll eat u alive, best thing for it is the bottles of Skin So Soft but it has to be the blue bottle its dry oil spray stuff, its got something in it that stop them eating u fuck knows what but its well known up here for being the best thing to hold them back.

i'd advise a midge net as well.

one with a plastic visor in it is best.

you may not look the best but its great for getting a bit of relief from them as they really are rellentless little bastards, i live on the west coast and have fished many reservoirs round here and 90% of them are really bad with midges

Its the main reason a dont do more outdoor stuff, through the day there usually sound but as the sun starts to go down ur screwed they start feasting



Err a tend not to bother but a go rite up the hills dont even know if a need a permit

Ye watch out for the low ones they do cut it close

remember my first all nighter (loch tay) bloody shat it the first time it happened

i tried the strontian river... another river near strontian.... and this west river/lake type thing driving through Glencoe


only thing i successfully caught was mackerel with feathers...
we took 5 home and ate them.... they wernt to bad actully

hi im new here it a shame because i wulda been able to give u some helpful advise,about flyfishing the highlands,its a comlete different game up their.glen coe usualy really good,ive had 13 lbs pike from their on the fly,but all ul really catch up yonder is small brownies their mabey 2 lbs if ur lucky.
dont be put off tho next time mabey.

small?? aye right, 2lbs?? doubt it, wild brownies are lucky to grow to 1 1/2lb depending on how much food is on offer
