PLEASE NO POSTING BULLSHIT ABOUT WHY I SHOULDN'T GROW AUTOFLOWERING STRAINS, HOW I LIVE IN THE PERFECT CLIMATE TO GROW BIG, HOW IM WAISTING MY MONEY ETC.... I HAVE DECIDED I WANT TO TRY THESE OUT.
Alright to get started.... I live in Florida, its mid summer here..... temps are about 90 every day, and it rains quite often. I usually grow inside and this will be my first outdoors grow. The reason for wanting to try the auto flowering is because I want to try it out, and this needs to be somewhat stealthy.
My backyard is 70ft by 180ft covered with overgrown weeds. I am planning on planting 10 auto flowering plants, the sunlight is adequate in this area.
I have been looking into the strains an have seen alot of people talking about Lowryder #2 , and also auto ak47. The difference I notice is that lowryder 2 is usually 1 main cola and a little shorter then auto ak47. Some people have been telling me they don't even consider auto ak47 an autoflowering strain, and that I have no clue why. I will be putting my 7L pot burried in the ground so that will take care of some of the height problems. I dont want enormous plants out there though. Some questions I have are, what are the yields like comparing the two, is one way better then the other, is one known to have more females per 10 pack, I dont think the odour will be a problem because they will be spread out. The ak47's would be from lowlife and the LR 2's would be from lowryder. Are these strains good for my climate? are there better autoflowering plants out there for this climate, etc etc etc....
Please give me some quick feedback/ideas as I'm trieng to order tommorrow.

Hi!
Have had some experience with LR2 but only in UK so sure you will yield more because of better weather. Outside I always got about 1 oz per plant. They always ended up about 2' or over but Im sure this was down to lack of sun but be prepared they may get this big. They also ended up with a good amount of side branches with obviously a good kola.
Out of a 10 pack I tended to get 1 not germ or germ to be a mutant & chucked & 3-4 males & 5-6 fems. They will also like to go straight into your 7L pots from seed. They will need some ferts after they are sexed & going into flower (obviously!).
Have not tried auto ak but I am trying some diesel ryder from JD, I like LR2 & I love diesel so fingers crossed!!!

I usually germ my seeds straight in small rockwool blocks that have been dunked in distilled water, I do this on my window sill. Is this not a good way? Once they sprout I plant the whole 1inch square in my soil, which this time will be in a 7L pot. The soil I am getting is the foxfarm soil, which already comes with all the good shit in it, including the bat shit =)
You would add other ferts to the soil as well? I was told this batch of soil would be all I needed to grow these plants w/o any nutes, which is what I want to try and do.

Hi Skimp,
only grown original Lowryder 1 myself but please dont pot seedlings into dirty great 7 ltr pots straight off as this is not good practice at all
I'm afraid as you want to pot up maybe twice for a 7 ltr pot.
The reason for this is it will be weeks before the roots are growing throughout the pot so the only part of the pot drying out regularly
will be the area of most root density, the rest will be an anaerobic(oxygen free) dead zone that the roots will have to grow into
and this most definitely is not condusive to a healthy rootball.

ahh was reading some guide that was saying just throw them in the 7L from the start, well Id be germing in rockwool then throwing the wool in it.. also I was thinking of using peat pots since Im burrying them, any concern with using those pots?

I agree for any normal canna plant but I am going by the official Joint Doctors grow guide & thats what he says to do. I have tried it and it works, these auto flowering plants are funny little freaks!!!

howdy
I did some of the joint doctors automix I did em indoors 10 seeds all popped and had 6 girls all with varied characteristics (pics in my diary) they were alright as something a bit different and a couple of them were actually really tasty and quite a nice high.
as for potting up I would say IME that maybe they need to be potted up early cause I potted one up a fair bit in and the roots never filled into the new soil I guess it was concentrating on flowering. I know with normal strains you do final pot before flowering well these start flowering at 3 weeks so not sure what the opinion in on that maybe a big pot straight away could be the way to go on these but I didnt try that.
I would recomend those seeds if you are dead set on autoflowers and fancy a bit of variety.
peace
