I took a couple of cuttings but failed miserably while cloning. I had to put the mother into flowering because I'm moving in 8 weeks and she's too big to move.

Question is: Can I take and clone a cutting 2 weeks into flowering? or is will it be too stressed with the light change and/or turn hermie?

Cheers,
Sid

Hi yes you can take cuttings from a flowering plant but remember that the mother will suffer stress and the cuttings take longer to root as they have to revert back to the veg stage...hope this helps

Just out of interest how long in to flowering will this occur?

As in would it happen if u took the cuttings say 6 days into flowering, would they take 3-4 weeks to revert back to veg?

No mate.. If you take cuttings after the final stretch, as the plant is going into peak floral stage they would take up to 3-4 weeks to start vegging again..

IME it seems to go on the number of fingers on the leaves..

E.G

If you had a 7 fingered stock plant and flower it for 3 weeks before taking cuttings the number of fingers on the cutting leaves would be more than likely 1 maybe 3, so after it is rooted would have to start the process of vegging from mono leaves which is the same principle as starting from seed. Therefore from when it started growing it would take 3 or 4 weeks of veg to get her up to stock plant stage..

Where as if the same 7 fingered stock plant were put into flower for a week or so and you noticed the numbers of fingers on the leaves reducing to 5 maybe 3 and you took your cuttings, it would take a lot less time to get her up to at least SOG stage and you would only need to veg her more if you wanted a bigger plant...
