Gutted chaps, I'm just chopping the bud after a 7 day dry and I find budrot inside one of the kolas that had burnt leaves, I've not even got to the biggest kola yet I'm praying its not rottern to.

So is it safe to remove the fury rottern bits and ok to smoke the sorunding bud.

Please advise

personally i wouldnt smoke any bud thats got mould on! even if you pic the mouldy bits off theres bound to be spores all over it!
and from what ive read its meant to be carcenagenic. so steer clear.

maybe speed up the drying process, lay it all out on news paper with no buds touching.
and see how it looks. you might beable to save a bit.

you might be able to salvage some with a water cure

I chucked the whole mouldy buds, chopped up, in a jar with Isopropyl alcohol. Then shakey shakey for five minutes, through a coffee filter and evaporate... I got this hash oil out. good luck. jim

This is dry mate, the fur is not showing on the outside of the bud its only when you peel it away from the main stem that you see it where the bud has been touching against the stem.

I stand to loose alot of bud if I bin this whole kola.

what I do is cut each stem holding all the sub-colas to the main stem right to the top, so you end up with stem and little buds. then divide these little buds into a pile into 3 piles... Mouldy, been touched by a bit of mould and completely mould free.. To the bin with the mouldy, the bubblebags with the touched by mould and the pipe completely mould free..

Thanks mate, I've removed all the bud that ive found that has fur on it and Im wondering if I could ice wash it for Hash, do you think it would be safe?

TBH If I was in your possition thats exactly what I would do... mould spores would not sink and contaminate the resin... But BHO

whats wrong with oil extraction, surely mold spores are no more likely to end up in the oil than any of the plant matter.Also the nature of oil is that it is a sticky mass so how could a mold spore become detatched and end up in your lungs?

The science behind oil extraction isn't my strong point... I am a risk taker with many aspects of my life, but not with my health..

get some 'stop bud rot' next grow, or whatever its called

I was wondering if it would be ok to smoke bud with mold in a bong? Most of the spores would be burnt and the water would filter the rest???
