Full Version: Little Flies/Knats?

Hi all,

Over the last say 1-2 months I have noticed little flies/knats in my flowering tent and around my drying plants. They do not appear to be on the plants themselves but just fly around the stems at the bottom.

They are so small I couldnt catch one and take a picture, and I am just abit concerned they could be something more sinister!

The plants, leaves or soil dont look unhealthy or eaten/damaged in anyway and I have had several successful individual harvests since noticing the small flies. The worst occasion was a few weeks ago when I went to water and there was maybe 20 of them flying around. After that I bought some plant safe cleaning solution and gave my tent a good clean. Since then I have noticed the odd one or two flying around the bottom during watering.

I do my trimming and drying in a seperate room and the pesky little buggers find their way there too.

Like I said, it isnt anything drastic like hundreds of little flies or anything, it is just a few. I am hoping they are just attracted by the conditions in my grow tent and they will leave my plants alone. They dont seem to be causing any trouble but I just wondered if someone would provide some re-assurance cool.gif

Thanks in advance yinyang.gif

Cheers Owd cool.gif

It sounds like a few sticky traps will be enough, like I said, there isnt a massive infestation (yet)!

It also sounds like they came in with the B & Q multi purpose compost I use. I need some more this weekend so maybe its time for a change? Compost section here I come lol.gif

Thanks again Owd yinyang.gif
