Hello all. Planted a few different plants in a little plot i have this year. Got some tomatoes some sweetcorn and some courgettes on the go and all are looking good although i dont think the sweetcorn is gonna be a cash crop! I also planted some aubergine and some peppers, both sweet and chilli. These have been ravaged by pests and have not really grown well enough to produce anything. So, i've got some room to get some more veg growing. Is there anything i should think of getting put in? Was thinking of some potatoes in time for christmas but i'm not sure. I'm going to have a check in my Big John Seymour book later in the week (wish i hadnt lent it out now) but thought i would see if any of you guys had any ideas. Anything but sprouts.
Cheers Solar. biggrin.gif

Artichokes grow quickly, both spiky and jerusalem ones.

the jerusalem ones are gorgeous like nutty potatoes.

The jerusalem artichokes would be best to go in now as they grow fast, almost invasive, and the tubours that grow like potatoes underground taste better after receiving the first frost.

In other words, plenty of time to grow more tubours. They are delicious too, especially sliced and fried like chips.

Do you just go to the green grocers, buy a jerusalem artichoke and then bury it?
