Full Version: Poor quality of Lowryder Seeds

Hi Tokers,
I spent nearly £70 on 30 lowryder seeds very few of which germinated. I sent one packet back because I knew they were too green to germinate. The company I bought them from refused to send me a replacement. The same company claim that everyone does it but refuse to give any advice on the phone.
I deliberatly delayed harvesting to make sure that the seeds were ripe but alas, the seeds are green and small and wont germinate. Is this anyone elses experience? Lowryder is an electric saver but my experience is that the seeds are a problem.
Thanks,
Clapham. rofl.gif

i did a pack of joint doctors auto flowering mix and got 2 fem 6 males and 2 non starters ..piss poor imo ...and the two fems are now 4ft tall and are taking forever to flower these two have been in the soil for two months or more .

i did lowryders a couple of years ago and got good fem to male ratio 7 fem 3 males ...but 4 of the lowryders when dried and cured had the most foul taste to them that i binned them ...they looked great though heavy resin production and all but foul foul tasting ...although 1 fem did taste of oranges which was a bit strange

clapham, are you talking about seeds you grew yourself? When you say you delayed harvest to make sure the seeds would be ripe, I presume you mean your own plants? If all the seeds are green, then maybe it was chopped too soon. For a seed run, I would wait until the seeds start falling from the husks before chopping, or even let the plant die off if necessary. Seeds can take 5 weeks to ripen, and might not even start growing until well into flowering.

I haven't had any real problems with germinating seeds from The Joint Doctor. I got some Original Lowryder, and the seeds were all fat and healthy. fem ratio was 50/50. I also got some Dwarf Mix, and the seeds were various colours and sizes, but they all germed so far.

Here's a pic of 7 Dwarf Mix seeds I planted 3 weeks ago, you can see the difference in size/shape, and they all germed:

So far, there are 2 Males and 3 Fems, so the fem ratio is looking ok too smile.gif.
