Hi I'm coming to the end of my ISP contract and wondering if any of you can recommend a pay monthly ISP, as I don't want to be tied into another 12-18 month contract.
If there are no decent pay monthly ISPs any recommendations for a cheap and friendly ISP, I'm not that big a downloader and we don't have any cable providers available to us.
Thanks

You could always ask if any of your neighbors are wiling to share their connection wirelessly with you if you slip them something towards the costs - shouldn't be a prob if you're not a big downloader as you say.

You could get one of those new pay-as-you-go disposable wireless usb connections. You just top them up as you need them, 4 Gig d/l limit or something for £10 or £20 a month (something like that), speeds ok at about 3+Mps or more depending on coverage (I'm assuming they use the mobile phone networks). Handy if you don't have to sign a contract, not sure if you do or not, only heard about them myself recently, might have to buy the initial usb dongle though, capitalism in the UK being what it is. Maybe worth looking into? Or a move to San Fransisco? I read somewhere they provide wireless internet connection to the whole city for free.

Thanks for the suggestions. I've seen the type you mean NG might have a look into that. Scribb|e I wouldn't feel comfortable surfing on my neighbours connection and currently I doubt any of them would let me
But yeah what happend to free wireless city hotspots etc? Oh yeah as you say capitalism why give something for free when you can charge for it.
