A ray that kills its prey with a giant electric shock has been found off the south coast of Britain.

The marbled stingray, which generates a power surge so hard it is like being plugged into the mains, normally sticks to the warmer med.
it is a relative of the ocean monster that killed crocodile hunter Steve Irwin by spearing him through the heart.
Now experts fear Britain's coastline will be invaded by packs of hunting electric rays this summer becuase of global warming.

just one touch from the predator, when hauled onto a fishing boat, could knock a man off his feet and kill.

The marbled stingray, which can grow upto 5 feet long was discovered by fisherman off the coast of Shoreham , West Sussex

Skipper Brian Davey said "i wasn't quick enough to warn my younger crew member Lee before he handled it ,but luckily for him i think it
had fully discharged itself on its way up,otherwise he could have found himself flat on the deck wondering what had hit him"

The captured ray is recovering at Brightons sea life centre, where staff have dubbed her Carmen after baywatch star...carmen electra

Experts expect more of them to appear off the coast and are warning swimmer to stear clear of them... rofl.gif

lol.gif lol.gif talk about sensationalism jesus lol.gif its a relative of the ocean monstar ?????????? give me a break lol.gif if he thinks thats a moster you should put him in the water with a few manta rays lol.gif

packs of hunting rays?..............nice lol.gif like packs of wolves stalking the sussex coast for any unwitting human foot so they can light them up lol.gif lol.gif i cant believe someone was allowed to print this as part of an artical lol.gif

rays are no danger to anyone if they are left alone and lets face it if you didnt know about the electric ones well you will soon learn lol.gif but unless you have a weak heart or a pacemaker then its just going to be one hell of a lesson you wont forget quickly lol.gif

kind of like putting your finger in a light socket lol.gif

E2A: check this Link and look down where it says its danger rting lol.gif and it doesnt say anything about it being electric either .

I thought Steve Irwin's death was a 1 in million chance as the one's that killed him basically never kill humans, so if these are relatives, how they gonna kill people.

With all our technology you would think we could find out how they make their leccy and solve the world's energy crisis by farming them on a mass scale.

what a wonderful thought puffin. cool.gif

thing is, scientists probably know how they produce it, and they could most probably harness the power too.

but i doubt they could ever replicate natures awesome technology. somewhere along the lines, mankind has lost its way. whistling.gif
