Hi all,

Just wondering if anyone has any info or opinions on these two strains.
I'm looking for a rewarding example from an indica & a sativa and these two seem to fit the bill.

Destroyer - 12 Seeds

This 100% Sativa strain is a cross of Meao Thai and an early and stable Mexico/Colombia. The exceptional backcross of two of our best females took over 7 years. The small and numerous bracteas are covered with a big amount of trichomes full of THC, carrying even 92 trichomes in some bracteas by mm2. Environmental conditions should be rather dry during bloom and with nutrients level quite low, specially nitrogen. Flowering period is from 8 to 12 weeks depending of growing conditions. Medium/high yield outdoors and some less in indoors. Vegetative period: Minimum 30 days for high performance

Flowering: 60/75 days. -- THC an AWESOME 27%!! -- Outdoors: Early November. -- Yield: 200-300 gr/m2

hi Altidude ive herd about hog winning cup but not grown it.I was looking for a good cross as you were but was told the hog was an indi so i went for s.a.g.e by t.h.seeds heard good stuff let us no what you decide and how it goes.

Funnily enough I got myself some sage as well.... In the end I heard some mixed reviews on the Hog.. some kind of mix up at the cannabis cup.. maybe sage was spose to be the winner actually...

You can have a 20% thc skunk #1 (think it was th seeds but dont quote me!) I also know that nitrogen 'kills' thc, i dont think anybody else apart from the seedbank that makes it would be able to get 27% thc out of it but id love to be proved wrong!!! I bet it is a right bitch to grow!! Personally id have the hog or J Herer or in fact anything from TFD or TH, maybe you could do a cross 'The Hogstroyer' !!! BBB

Yea was wondering bout sumti liek that, how often do you hit the thc levels indicated, and how can you really know ? i mean you could pot anything and most growers would never be able to confirm it ... (Sorry to thread hijack)

as far as i know none of the seed companies have comparable ways of measuring thc, do they claim 27% from dried bud? or live plants? BBB

No real way to tell....

Perhaps the easiest way to describe it is as a ratio of 50% good seeds 50% growth variables maybe...???

I did think the description, "carrying even 92 trichromes in some bracteas by mm2" was a valid comment on potential however... The maturity of the trichromes (denoted by the continuing 'ambering ' of the fluid visible on the trichrome head, I believe) is described as the principle factor in determining THC/CBD(N) ratios.. Less milky/amber = "high" more milky/amber = "stoned" ,.. in either case the sheer volume of trichromes is directly proportional to the resulting presence of psychoactive materials. In terms of handling factors I've heard that the curing process is the most influential and, of course, harvesting at optimum conditions for personal tastes. I'm sure the more experienced growers would agree that ratios & levels of THC/CBD(N) are only one of many factors that share in contributing to perceived intensity - I, for one, quite enjoy getting totally stratospheric with less mong.

Here is cannabiogen's (destroyer breeders) website : http://www.cannabiogen.com - they're Spanish (is it legal to grow of up to 7 plants in Barcelona??? cooool ) - they seemm quite academic in their approach... I've heard mostly good things.

There are apparently kits to measure THC levels as well, although I've never purchased or used one... Maybe someone else can enlighten?

Well the statement that the destroyer is 27% would be true for however it was grown.

THC levels do not rise and fall, they are built into the genetics of the plant.

However the amount of trichomes carrying this 27% THC can vary massively which is what you mean I'm sure.

The HOG is supposed to be a monumentally strong smoke. Apparently it just knocks you flat on your back. Personally I'd rather smoke 2-3 spliffs to get the same affect instead of only managing to get through half a spliff.

However I would still like to grow it just to see. Oh and to pass to my mates and watch then turn green!

re: HOG - I've also heard that S.A.G.E. was terrific and possibly mixed up with the HOG at the cannabis cup... dunno.. Pretty hard to judge when your surrounded by so much powerful herb. Got some just to be safe ))

I won a couple a hundred on the lottery few months ago and decided to spend it all on the best seeds I can find (any suggestions? still have £155 to go)

i have tasted the destroyer toight and it is good. an obvious sativa smoke in effects and a similar taste to ak47 - a hint of citrus (this was chopped 1 week early though so fully matured may be different again). The guy tried a new thing on his nft aswell with it , turning off the pump and leaving the plants standing with the lights running 12/12 for three days... massive trichome production was seen over the 3 days... the leaves all went yellow bu the weed buds look amazing.. let u know in a week!

and has anyone ever had dutch passion ww that tastes of sage? i thought ww tsted of cheese, old socks or somethin. this shit didnt... still nice but diff to widow i have had in the past. Very seedy too (fem my arse!)

is the hog a stinky strain when growing ? Should I ever win a few quid might ocnsider it. I like 1 spliff stone, canes less on throat/lungs and you can push your limits far more effeciently (but only if , like me, your dum enough to do so).

my first night on my crop of destroyer and it is very nice. Sweet smelling and slightly hazey tasting, powerful heady stone but not over pungent.
A quality product imo. 12 week flower though! 4oz dry. went straight into flowering a 6inch cutting (nft) and it grew to 3ft in flower. My mate had not as good results with the mother of my cutting..His in appearance was more hairy, similar to mazar and yet mine resembles a white strain and has a haze kick taste which was not apparant at all in his??? Odd considering the same mother,, though im not complaining as mine is far superior!!!! sorry Dave if u read this!

i got some hog beans on the go, all i can say so far is that they have germinated quick and no failures 50 hrs 5 seeds planteed 5 baby plants showing i think thats quick....

Good luck with them beans Budhunta, .. I actually ended up giving the one Hog I had left to a mate at 2 weeks,.. its now 11 weeks and is bout 4 foot tall, fat dark green leaves and some pupley veins running up and down the branches - really looks quite lush.

I'm just growing 7 destroyers, 7 armageddons & 2 blue widows - all looking good so far at week 8

Thanks Pez for the heads up - I'd heard the same re: the long flowering period - also that its a v nice smoke & makes a stunningly good ice hash - soon find out - well not that soon but...

I grow Hog.

I'm flowering my 4th or 5th crop of it now.

A friend gave me a cutting to mother ages ago and I've grown hog exclusively ever since.

I love it! It's hardy, it's a big yielder and smoking it's like being hit with a brick wrapped in velvet!

It stinks! It has a fantastic fruity smell (mainly because of the nutes I use and the B'Cuzz bloom stimulator) but it has an undertone of bad breath or armpits - if you can smell this undertone then you've definitely got the good pheno.

I use DWC - I find it gives fantastic results. I use Vitalink nutes. I used to use BioPonics and before that Ionic but the Vitalink stuff has given me the best results with this system.

One thing I've discovered - Hog doesn't like to be vegged under 24 hour light. It responds much better to an 18 hour light, 6 hour dark vegging cycle. The plants look healthier and grow faster.

It clones extremely easily with Clonex and peat pellets - I haven't tried bubble-cloning yet.

Be warned - if you let them, they will grow extremely large very easily! I have a large growroom but not everyone has that advantage. I veg them for a minimum of two weeks under 1200w but have left them for 4 weeks before. After a 4 week veg they finished flowering at 6ft! I got 23 smokable oz off 5 plants (from the top 3 feet), and with the stuff from the bottom 3 feet off each plant I made 25g of bubblehash. Believe me - that hash makes you a very popular boy!

Hog big yielder.Heavy stone but can go easily hemaphrodite with the slightest of stress.Not my cup of tea but if you want heavy greasy smoke that yields.Good for commercial.

No, I have to disagree, I'm afraid. I've found it to be really hardy - you've got to try really hard to fuck them up. Hog's almost as tough as Power Plant, in my opinion. Even the heat this summer didn't knacker them, and my growroom was approaching 40 degrees some days!

[hi all ive been growing hog for a while now,, and it a masive yeilder, very strong weed, i do have prob with starting clones only have 6 out off 10 root on averrage, 5 0z per plant no prob,(thats dry bud).........i will be cutting a crop down in about 10- 14 days time i will put some pics up at that time.ttfn
