Ey up, when i was getting dragged around Morisons the other week by our lass. I just couldn't resist having a peek down the lighting aisle, like a kid in the toy section. lol.gif

Only had a quick look before the missus left me standing there, but a 30w screw cap Cfl caught my eye.
Picked it up and im not sure on colour but i think the lumen rating was about 1600 and the price were about £3 odd & roughly 15cm long.

Just thought i'd let you guys know although i do feel kind of silly posting this but im goin to buy some of these as im losing my 600Hps and growing miniscale with CFL.

Hope this can help someone

Good luck with that mate, think ya will need a lot of cfls,as a 600w sodium is 92000 lumens.i know ppl use them but is the yeild any good?

Yeah its a bitch! im really going to miss all those lumens, but havent got a choice but to downsize.

I Will get a 200w Enviro and mayb 4/6 of these 30w cfl crammed into my little box. See what happens eh spliff.gif

There are grows using just these sorts of lights. Some of the CFL perpetual sog grows are producing silly yields under around 200w of lighting.

It's something that isn't very well covered on the net but I found some diaries on another forum about this very efficient method of growing.

The basic principle is that you harvest a couple of plants every week. By keeping them small single cola SOG you can do this - yields are smaller but it's fresh harvest every week and just the job for a connoiseur of variety.

I've yet to grow myself but am going this method when i do. 2700k CFL + 4000K CFL for flowering, and i was told to look for a couple of 6500k CFLs for mothers/veg

Probably not for flowering but I've been using a two 23watts for vegging this summer. The growing is probably slower, but I didn't mind because I was moving around this summer and didn't have time to set up a proper grow. With a comprehensive fertilizer system ( and I mean COMPREHENSIVE. I use grow, bloom, potassium, micro-nutrient additive, mycrohizzae, internodal additive, hormone mix, worm juice and worm castings. All organic off course) you can compensate for low lumens during veg. I grew from seed into a really lovely bushy plant in about 11 weeks, the plant is in flowering now with a total of 11 major flowers and 13 minor flowers.

Don't use them to flower though. If you want to stick with flouro's then spend the extra dosh and get t5's, they're absolutely lovely. wub.gif
