Dunno what's going on...
But there you have it...
At last.
It's a water tank with two 6"net pots glued to the lid with a glue gun. The tops of the net pots are taped with black duct tape to ensure no light leaks to the tank and mylared over for the same reasons(also to reflect light up to the leaves).
The air pipes go into small angle connections which are fitted to the side ( at the top) of the tank, soft silicone tube fits to the angle connections on the inside which go down to circular airstones ( like hoops) which sit underneath the pots and give the roots a constant supply of oxygen.
There is a 22mm pipe which comes out of the bottom with a tap on it for draining. This is handy also for running of a little water for ph or ec testing etc without having to lift off the lid as the plants get bigger.
The green seethrough pipe on the side gives the exact water level so checking levels can be performed again without taking off the lid. Another filler pipe can be put near the top as a filler , but I plan to top up by pouring straight through the clay balls and it seems to work ok.
The nute solution has to be changed every 7 to 10 days and the ph generally checked daily.
Apart from that it's pretty maintenance free.
Hopefully.....
