going through a box the other day i found 2 packs of Nirvana AK48 & Misty, i had totally forgot about them & have realised that i bought them about 3 years ago
hopefully i'll get the chance to pop them after the summer, thats if theyre still viable after all this time ?

You never know - older seeds than those have been germed successfully before now - all depends on how they've been stored and their condition prior to that - so long as they've not gotten damp, or been frozen at any point, they've got a good a chance as can be, I reckon.

A friend of mine has a load of different seeds that he got his hands on over 3 years ago, he is still germinating and growing them now. Although he has mentioned that the germination rates have dropped abit since he had them, he says some are still good and others are not.

Cheers guys
the seeds were still in their packs & have been in a cardboard box for about 2.5 years.
so hopefully they should be ok, as long as a few from each pack germ i should be able to take cuts

Like the others said as long as they werent damp at one point or frozen you should be fine. From what Ive been told... as long as they are kept in relatively constant temps/environment they should be good to go... and hey, if they are seeds you found, even if you dont have 100% germ rates I would say any plant that would come out of those packs would be like a free gift

I've just had the same thing happen found some Random Nirvanna beans that where about 4 years old. Tried germinating 3 they didn't pop so scuffed up another 3 one looked like it was opening then stopped. Gutted . Had to resort to some bagseeds instead now. Goodluck any mate it would be a proper bonus if they pop
