Hi UK420, just thought id report on my first grow, pukka's chronic#1.

I really wish i'd found this site before choosing this strain for me virgin grow as I have since read many a neg rep on the seed bank I used and £70 for 10 beans is a lot of dough to shell out for what turned out to be mixed results.

Anyhoo, 5 of 5 germed one with a bit of help to crack open the seed case when I saw the root start growing up to the light and no sprout! Just plied the seed open with a sharp knife and the sprout shot out like a rocket! 4 made it into my flood an drain hydro under 400w HPS.

2 females out of the 4 and a textbook first grow later... Yeilded a very nice 15oz dry bud from 6 weeks veg an 10 weeks flowering.

The only thing is I was expecting a much stronger smoke from the description in the book, oh its not terrible just very mellow for what I thought was a mainly indica strain, I was expecting couch lock but no its quite cerebral I can easily get up and do stuff that needs doing.

I wont be growing chronic again, the huge yields are nice but for all that effort I want something really special at the end of it all... The lesson I learned is that just cos the book says its the shizzle and they cost £70 instead of £30 doesnt always mean its extra special. Independant reviews like this community is always going to be more helpfull way to choose.

Sorry am i reading your post correct: You got 15oz dry from 2 plants? on a first grow? If so i tip my hat to you sir thats quite an achievement!


I have smoked chronic grown (organically) by a friend and didnt think it was that bad really (maybe why?), his grew like monsters also, but if memory serves he didnt get quite the results you did.

Bad luck limboman - it sounds like a good yield, but if it's not really what you were looking for then it's not so good.

I guess Chronic#1 is Chronic crossed with Skunk #1 - so the 75 % sativa in the skunk must be coming through in the ones you've grown. Skunk #1 is a nice sativa high and is in so many crosses you'd have come accross it eventually anyway. But it certainly isn't anywhere near an indica.

As a second grow maybe try a couple of cheap indicas which are meant to be good. C4 from Chimera is nice, as is Federation Seeds Romulan. Ice from Nirvana gets great reviews. Maple Leaf indica from Sensi is a classic and if you want the old time indica high yielder - then Northern Lights needs to be tried.

But give the Chronic a good cure in glass jars and it will develop a more stony, indica stone. Prob won't be perfect - but still nice.

Next grow will b better

Sorry to hear you got suckered in by Pukka, Chronic from the original breeder costs less than the £70 Pukka charge

I'm sure you're next grow will be a cracker, just pick pretty much anything from a reputable breeder, there's enough grow reports etc on this site, i'm sure you'll find something suitable in no time.

Cheers infidell yeh I was amazed at the yeild myself i would have been happy with 5 or 6oz from a first time.

I think b8man your right it seems like sativa has come through in these judging by the toke and thanks for your tips on indicas, I needed some ideas for next time! I've got some kush skunk seeds so its going to be half them and half something propper indica. My research starts with your suggestions...

They were giants KC, one of em didnt so much have a top cola more like a "cola-bush"!
I was worried toward the end as they had no more room to get any taller in my growspace!
I have got some pics il find a few gooduns and put them up...

Sidenote: I must be going blind iv been browsing uk420 for about a week now and i only just noticed the new member intro forum, i would have said hi in there before posting Oh well not too late i suppose, im off there now...

Thats about two thirds of them both in shot, they completely filled the space under the stairs!

In that respect it was good that the two plants at the back flopped out nutsacks and got chopped as they wouldnt have got any light anyway... As it is those two didnt get much light on the far side I reckon if id had unlimited space for even lighting I would have got another ten oz off the far side of the plants.

One more pic, as you can see they weren't massive trich producers but I'm happy enough with the results. It does the job just not quite my taste. Im looking for a real hashhammer!
