hey all was just posting to see if anyone has grown out any seeds from this seedbank, they look delicious, would like some feed back on any of there strains, i like the idea behind the company and it would be a real treat smoking something that has never been crossed, anyone know if these seeds are legit, peace out smile.gif any info is welcome thanks, collins
felix_dzerjinski
Currently have some of their seeds in storage ready to go later on. Someone who has grown them before said treat them as you would a SE Asian sativa.

Hiya Collins00 -

I haven't ok'd replying to this with the folks at uk420 - I'll check back to see if they pm me about it

These are strains that have been collected by my friends and I - they are all original in the sense of not being played with by Western breeders

if you are wondering, Pahari Farmhouse is an Indian Himalayan charas sativa from Kumaon

we have three Indochinese (Southeast Asian) ganja strains due to be released soon: a Highland Lao, a Highland Thai and a Lao Akka

just to emphasise - these are original uncrossed genetics, mostly high altitude drug strains and all that implies

thanks for the interest, all questions welcome (as long as admin are ok with it)

Hi Namkha,

That sounds like some pretty exciting news there. I'd certainly like to add some more SE Asian genetics to my collection. It's great that someone is preserving these landrace strains before they are lost in the wild or mixed with domesticated lines . These varieties have so much more to offer than some of the blander strains we see coming from the larger seed houses.

Could you tell use from what areas these originate and what sort of altitude they are normally at ? Would you have any pictures of them in their wild state ?

Much appreciated,
Felix.

Do you know how these strains do indoors? Pahari Farmhouse sounds so nice i am just worried that they would only grow properly in the natural environment i think i have smoked the type of charas they make and it blew me away but obviously just the bud may not be very potent.
thanks
Wrecked Train
Put me down for some too mate - nearest Ive seen to your kind of genetics are World of Seeds landraces-if you can undercut them youve got yourself a customer (only kidding will try them anyway -they sound like the real deal

welcome to 420 friend Im sure anyone offering seed and strain info from 1st hand knowledge will be OK with the mods on here.

There realy isnt much competition with landrace seeds there just isnt enough of them at the moment. I would have sold landrace genes if i had the resources theres so many different landrace types and most seeds available are so dutch and seem uninteresting to me. I hope some more people are going to share there experiences growing these gifts from heaven on here.

I've got a diary which I'm updating occasionally that has some landrace highland Lao plants and some lowland Thai's. There's not much happening as they are not the fastest plants off the block but may possibly give you some idea how the forthcoming SE Asian beans may perform.

Almighty, this is PBR Streetgang.............

Yeah ive been watching that but they do take ages! great work though, and great name. thanks

hiya - great to see your replies

Felix - maybe I am misinterpreting your post, but none of our SEAsian lines are wild... landrace does not by definition mean wild... in fact it generally refers to cultivated i.e. bred plants/animals which are specific to a certain region.... the land reference in landrace is meant to emphasise regional specificity (not to imply that the lines are wild)

i.e. all of our strains unless specified are cultivars

[cf. animals such as the Border Collie etc. .... region specific but highly bred]

jungli - i.e. wild strains - generally would have too low germination rates from collected seeds for them to be possible to put on sale unproblematically

RSC is unwilling to make any claims for how our lines will behave outside of their native environment: all descriptions should be taken to refer to how these lines behave in their region of origin

all of our strains tend to be from at least 1000m plus - the SEAsian from generally 1000 to 2000m, the Himalayan anything from 2000m to 4000m or so

the Pahari Farmhouse (Kumaoni) is not as refined a line as say the Malana, but the high has bags of character and the plants have great structure and production

the Highland Lao is a Hmong variety with a fabulous high

the Lao Akka is an 'indica" type from the Golden Triangle area

all best,

Namkha

Thanks for the clarification Namkha,

Cultivars sounds good to me thumbsup.gif , that's more what I would be after rather than something truly wild and low yielding, a line that has been cultivated by indigenous people for it's properties. Thank you for the information on altitude, I've found personally that highland varieties suit my grow slightly better and finish somewhat faster than lowland equatorial types. Whilst enjoying a challenge as much as the next man, I've no desire to make things more difficult nea.gif

The Highland Lao sounds very exciting and an Indica from the Golden Triangle that's got to be worth a look yes.gif

Thanks,
Felix.

Idle Hands
Looks very interesting namkha, good luck.

hey namkha, i'm really want to grow the malana strain for next year. can you tell me anything unique about this plant and it's cultivation? is it a strain that can grow at my lattitude? would yield be compromised?

i've decided it will deffinitely be one of three strains for next year. i just want to learn as much as possible geek.gif... p.s. how old is the strain? thanks! biggrin.gif

Hey - great to hear you would like to grow the Malana

I would think the Malana strain is "as old as the hills" - truthfully, I am not sure that that is a question which it is possible to answer

my memory says the latitude of the Malana region is about 30 - 31 North (ish)... plants will be ready mid-Oct to mid-Nov there... I'm afraid I can't be sure how they will perform where you are... I'm sure anywhere with warmth and strong sun during harvest time they will do great

all best,

Namkha, I'm currently growing out Malana, and it looks great (though a bit big for my closet smile.gif )

Also, I'm very interested in the Thai. When will it be available?
And where do you reccomend we purchase your lines? I went to seedsman.com last time.

Hey Afghanica - I'm not sure how far I can push my luck with the mods here... so far they are letting me spam like a Fray Bentos factory (thanks guys!)

We'll have a Highland Lao out in the next week or two - some Thai and Himalayan jungli freebies to go out with it

Thanks mods, as I say pm me if this is getting on your tits!

Nice! smile.gif freebies make things so tempting!
I dont know if its spamming because they are sold on the seedsman website which is linked on this site?

Are the hash producing strains (the 3 on the seedsman website at the moment) good for smoking the buds because otherwise ill have to wait till i get a field.

Thanks
namkha
hey 32-20

great to hear that man smile.gif

I tend to be a bit of a snob and say hash strains are for making hash and ganja strains are for making ganja - but mostly I do that just to make a point that needs someone to be making it...

guys like Rob Clarke have said similar things - i.e. that indicas do not make really classy ganja

but then strains from Malana and Mazar have formed a part of plenty of pukka modern sensi hybrids - and guys in Malana will tell you that their plants can make excellent ganja too... they just think that charas is better...

some people just love the funky Kush stuff etc. - it's all a question of personal taste really I think

all best,

Ngakpa

Are these out yet, ..., and if so where should I be looking for them?
namkha
hey Afghanica - if it was up to me they would be - just waiting for Seedsman to send me out an order (he's got plenty of other things to keep him busy I know)

we'll have our own website up as soon as possible too, but in the meantime Seedsman is your best bet

just so you know Joolz has very kindly given us our own forum on here so you can also post questions over there - put some hash porn up to tempt people over

How are those Malana doing - any joy? any pics? We'll have photos of them in their native environment later in the year, but I'm very interested to see how they do indoors.

All best,

Ngakpa smile.gif

Graeto

Hi All,

I have just purchased some seeds from the real seed company, 25 mazar i sharif get 12 free, plus 20 shiberghan seeds and 12 lebanese free too, amazing deal. When checking for weak or non seeds I found 4 out of each pack were duds. So I emailed the company through the site, to inform them and asked if they would reimburse me another 12 seeds and they sent me 12 malana cream arrived this morning.

Many thanks to the rsc for there response. Has anyone grown any of these varieties before? Would like to know if im too late to start this year? and what your experiences are with any of the RSC seeds....

Many thanks
Graeto
Any one grown the mazar i sharif outdoors in uk???
