Hi Guys.

I have a strange wilting problem. Hehehe thats what me last gf said aswell. Anyway Ive just gone into flower. Its now been 6 day in BUT i have been having to take my plants out from under the light because they wilt quite badly.

I think I have been overwatering abit till now & have not used any nutes yet (but will be using BioBizz Bloom & Grow in afew days).

Im hoping its just overwater at the moment BUT any info/advice will be greatly appreciated. Ill post some pics tomorrow to see if that helps.

A Neighbour who has also grown afew plant said the plant is trying to 'escape' the light. Are plant quite sensitive in the first 2 weeks of flowering, to light?

Sorry for the n00b questios but you gotta ask.

Inf0 - 3 Plants (a White Widow, Big Bang, Church) all in a tall cupboard with 24/7 extrator fan & oscilating fan on canopy. Big Pots and OK'ish soil.

Cheers.

Hi, Welcome

Check for burn marks, light maybe too close.
Hows the air flow? Extract, intake etc
What about pot size?

Underwatering, Overwatering... Lots of possibilites.

A Picture paints a thousand words, post one up and you'll get a better diagnosis. thumbsup.gif

Cheers for reply. Yep, Ill post some pics tomorrow (need sd card for camera). The pots are big ornamental things, must be about 11-13L.

10" extractor fan at near top of cupboard on all time. The cupboard door is left open slightly to keep temps down & also for airflow.

I have gone up in pot size 3 times to the big ones.

There have been afew dead (yellowing & brown spots) leaves near the bottom so ive been taking those off.

I think the airflow isnt a prob. The Light is a Dual Spectrum SunT affair with a balast and reflector.
I have tries moving the light as high as it will go about 4-5 ft above the plants but it stays the same.

I have been having temp problems bcause it was so hot recently but othertemps otherwise seem in the OK range.

NOTE - as soon as I take them out of cupboard & stick em on windowsill they perk right back up again (within about an hour or so)

Ive also been using SBPI once a week as i have a mite problem half way through veg.

Cheers.

That's probably gonna mean its a lack of proper air flow or a lighting issue...

Thx for replys Guys. OK here are some pics. The ones with the light on & in cupboard are just after 12 hours off. They are quite perky. BUT after an hour or so they droop & wilt badly (the pics on windowsill with net curtain).

Ive ruled out Heat, as the temps are lower than the 2 week leading upto flowering. Airflow seem OK.

The trouble is I havent changed anything between grow & start of flower. If anything the temps are lower & Ive moved the light up as far as it will go to reduce stress on plants.

Does anyone else have to change anything between growing & flowering.

I read that during the 1st 2 weeks of flowering, the plant is quite sensitive to light - This would prolly answer the problem.

The only other thing of note is that im sure ive been overwatering. Im on day 5 of no water now & the plants seem OK (apart from the light sensitivity). Im hoping to start Nutes in the next 1-2 days BUT Im not sure if I should whilst I have this wilting problem.

Maybe some Nutes will help with the plants tolerance!! I dont know really, still a n00b.

Cheers again & THX for looking.

get ya light closer for starters, 5 ft is silly , my 600 hps is usually 12 - 24 inch from top of plants ,start at 2ft and put ya hand at plant tops and if its too hot for your hand its too hot for the plant, but 2 ft should be fine . they do look a bit overwatered and that can kill a plant if you keep doing it , an underwatered plant will be floppy n wilt ,overwatered will wilt but wont be floppy , the leaves n branches will appear tio wilt in an overwatered plant but the petioles n leaves will be quite stiff compared to the petioles n leaves of an underwatered plant. leaves will appear almost swollen too when overwatered .

also you mentioned extraction , but you didnt say wat was bringing fresh air in, im guessing passive intakes but seeing as you never mentioned are you sure your airflow is adequate . if you gotta fan pulling out through a 100ml hole youll need a passive intake of about 5 times that i think, also in a cupboard, tent, box the air gets shit real quick so you need really good extraction

RESOLVED

Turn out they just needed a Good Feed. Today they had their 1st feed ever on 1ml bloom & 1ml grow & they have perked right up again. I have got them back under the big light now and there fine, no wilting at all.
Im leaning towards problem being cheap soil and slight overwatering. I have let then dry out for 6 days upto today and they were the picture of health after afew hours.

So from now on I have a bloom & grow schedule to stick to, BUT I will make sure I wait 4-5 days between feeds. Maybe just feed every other watering (advice welcome)

In the nute schedule I've got it mentions Epson Salts (about £2.50 / 250g delivered from ebay). Is this quite important to the grow?

Many THX for all the help everyone. Yes the light was only 5ft bcause they seemed to wilt under light so i moved it up to 'ease' them in flower. Its normally 18-24 inches. I could prolly do with some intake fans (are computer fans ok?)

THX again - Peace.

i use bio bizz and i feed every time i water , some on here feed every other watering , depends on lots of factors, best advice it to learn to spot the tell-tale signs your plant gives you .

as for the epsoms salts its magnesium and cannabis likes quiet alot , i tend to give mine a foliar spray of 1 ltr water /pinch of epsom salts maybe 3 times in veg and once or twice early flower , some plants wont need any , depends on soil and feed . with bio bizz though you will prob need to use it but only if ya plant shows signs of a mag deficiancy . you can buy it from your local chemist , a quid mine was for a nice pot of it. Bish has a good guide on epsom salts in the stickys on here somewhere
