Can you not vent the air out a window now it's warmed up a bit ?

żAre you venting from your GR into your bedroom? unsure.gif

If you are, like Felix mentioned, you should look at extending the exhaust vent to outside. thumbsup.gif

yeah i was thinking about that but i'm in a ground floor flat and won't a silver tube poking out the window look a bit obvious? and the security reasons of leaving a ground floor window open.

scraglor
you could get yourself a dehumidifier, bit pricey new, usually about on ebay though

Would a 'false-backdrop' in the window be a problem.
I mean by this, the window boarded up, but with a hole for the extraction......the board facing the outside world is covered with a net and some old curtains so from the outside it looks just like a room with curtains closed.
Too suss maybe?

żDo you not have any wall-vents that you could enlist into the cause? ph34r.gif

Thought I'd introduce myself at last, I'm CG's girlfreind and thought I'd add something to the post to elaborate just how bad the situation is in our bedroom.

Its f'kin HOT shes turned the room into a sauna, theres condensation everywhere, all my clothes are damp and most likely going to end up mouldy cry.gif

By the way next time anyone says to me "you don't mind if I grow a small cannabis plant do you" the answer will deff be NO.........the reason being is that what was supposed to be 'a small plant' is now a whole f'kin jungle complete with the humidity to go with it.......

Anyway thats my bitch'in over with unsure.gif

I'm having probs like that to, my grow tent is in the spare bedroom but what i do is pull the air from outside by simply having the intake ducting at the window ledge u can feel the humidity in the room but in the tent its maxing out at like 55-60% lights out lights on we're rocking at about 45-50%.

Ano what ur saying about not leaving ur window open tho, it can be a bit risky depending were ur staying where i am house breaking aint a big problem. A wreckon ur best option is prob a de-humidifier they start at about £50 or somethin out of argos then u got the running costs not to sure how much they'll use.

So it looks like our best option might be a de-humidifier.

Can anyone recomend a really good one thats not very noisy and will get rid of all the moisture?

Thanks

You'll want to rig it up with the grow vent output up next to the dehumidifier input.

You could make some makeshift ducting to direct the moist air into the unit as if you set it up to just remove the moisture from the general area I think it won't be dry enough for you.

An Idea may be to run your exhaust ducting under your floor boards and into another room, screw a wall vent to the floor and vent out near a window...
scraglor
yeah, they are pretty noisey, dunno what to suggest really, other than you need to vent it outside somewhere!
scraglor
you could try a desiccant to absorb the moisture, like the big 25 Kg bags of salt used for water softeners. that stuff really sucks moisture out the air, but you'd have to keep replacing it every few days i'd imagine
scraglor
plus it's about 7 quid a bag. might be worth buying just one bag to see how it does (you'd need to have it spread out a bit as well, in fact the more i think about it the less practical it sounds lol.gif)

hi ,

just my 2p , , it has been fair humid in general outside lately aint it ... i know u might have a damp house or sommat and then it warms up ! I used to use a air moving fan wen we had that real hot summer a few yr ago ! about 29 quid from b n q and u wuddnt believe the draft they make , , they sit on the floor and have sorta different blades to a normal fan ! , , , ,

just thought it may be an alternative to a de - humid ifier ! might freshen ur room up a bit !

I think your main problem is that inlet air and outlet air appears to be mixing in the same room, separate the two and I think your humidity will be a lot more manageable...
Dayhu
Ive had this problem now temps are getting back up i put my extraction on to 5hr stright then off for 1 and back on for 5 and its better not ideal ! .. altho they look fine will get the fan on full whack to prevent any dreaded Budrot !

No 2 ways about it you cant live in a grow room with no extraction end of.
When you look at a space to grow in one of the first points to get to grips with is Air in + Air out.If you havent got that available then forget it. 908

I'm growing in my bedroom and I'm having problems with humidity too, seems to be uite high in general at the moment. Its been reaching up to about 65% during lights off. I'm lucky to be on the top floor so my extraction goes out through a vent in the ceiling into the loft. Still I don't know what I can do to get it down further and I only have a few weeks left, would hate to see it all go wrong now unsure.gif

Hope you get it sorted mate, all I've been able to do so far is increase the frequency that my circulating fan comes on for, praying that helps me avoid any rot!

peace
