Why of course I do...

I hope it shows

normally I'm using all my swap out water from my resivoirs on my outside plants including the bushes and anything that flowers.. but my roses always get first shot and everythingelse gets the leftovers... for some reason I like roses don't know why I just do...

Here's the tiffany's today... once they start opening they get to it... but all around I'd say it's a classic bloom too!!!

My gemini's are starting to bloom now too

I'll get a piccy of'em when they start to put on a real show... I think I like them the most, only because I put them in a spot that was too shady last year they almost died, but I insisted that they stay in that spot... So my plan of attack was to raise the canopy on all the trees in the area, and drop the ones that I could to let in more light... It was a pain in the arse for two little bushes, but I'm stubborn like that!!..

they really float my boat! I do love roses but I've never really had spare room to grow them. My father in law has a real knack for beautiful roses and it's always a pleasure to be in their garden. Our garden us so small we use the borders for veg production and have one fluorescent pink rose which was here when we moved in.

I like roses too. Nice pictures mate. I have a couple of bushes here. Got yellow and red, both over 20 years old and both about 6-7ft high. The yellow one is most impressive though, some years I get multicoloured roses, some of the petals get orangey red colours through them. I'll have to remember to post some pictures for you when they're in full bloom.

Up those pics !!!!!!

My gemini's should be blown up next week... I gotta a cane on the tiffany that has 5 buds on it...and several canes that have three on each tip...
I'm glad I'm not the only one into thes... I got into roses when I was in college... I was in a fraternity that was founded at this campus which is in a very historic part of the southeast US, so naturally there are a lot of historic landmarks in the area... Well one of'em is a rose garden that was put on the campus by my chapter over 100 years ago... Well the roses went to Sh@t and the adminstration intended to replant the rose garden, they were gonna use roses but not the same roses that were their which also happened to be the flower of the fraternity!!!(So Hail NO)
So here I stepped in sneaking out in the middle of the night to pull off leaves infected with black spot and the like... After a month of work it got to the point where the landscapers for the school were actually trying to kill the plants,i.e. accedentailly ? stepping on top of the root mas and the canes (dunno if you've ever seen a 100 year old rose bush but splitting something like that is intentional at best, just for the sake of having their way...
Well "story-of-my-life", I couldn't let that happen...

The school butted heads with my fraternity and the alumni got involved... It was decided that no one would be allowed to touch the roses for the next three months which was BS because they wouldn't let anyone even water them!!! (

oh yah I touched'em ALL NIGHT LONG

) They stated that depending on how they looked at that time they would decided weather or not to replace them.. Short story long the roses are still alive and they even made a magazine cover photo that year !!!
So now you know Podgy's great rose adventure, and how I came to appreciate growing plants other than canna...

lovn tha deck back there OSS wish I had something like that in my backyard , can barely get grass to grow back there though cause of the excessive shade...
Those roses should be thrown up buds any day mang
I tried to snap a photo of my gemini's with the cell phone they blooming now, but the phone cam sucks I'll get a piccy up tomorrow... But for now here's a pick of a tree I'm working on... I guess its a maple, and the only thing cool about it is that the owner had twisted its trunk, unfortunately they didn't keep on with it, and the twisted branch is interfering with my gardening chi!!! so instead of cutting the twisting branch I'm gonna try to twist/wrap it around again... gonna take awhile now that it's got so much age on it ... In a few weeks I'll losen the strap and move it around some more hopefully without breaking it!!!
Edited for my horrible grammar and spelling..

Here's a couple of the gemini's They seem to be putting out smaller flowers this year, but the bushes themselve look happy and healthier than last year... I had to drop quite a few trees to keep'em happy... Don't worry got plenty of trees in my yard just wish I could get rid of the sweet gums on my own but they're f-n hughe!!

Here's a pic of a flower garden I did from seed last year.. It had the same problem as the roses not enough light but now they grown but no bloomin, and they getting plenty of flower power !!! so I am mythed about it... Not to mention some of the larger plants lean over and end up laying on the ground what have I done wrong? I did notice, at the base of the plants that have fallen over, what appears to be bubbly spit that is more than likely from a bug so I sprayed'em hopefully no others will fall over

Sheriff there's always room for more.. [my thoughts on smoking too

]
@ Dr Green Tumb... The first pic would have me saying bramble because of the way the leafs look, but I've never grown a climber before either..
the second pic does look like it could be a rose variety, but the first pic gives more detail and I would go off that one and soley based off what the leaf structure looks like I'd say it were a bramble vs. a rose... the flowers will give it away though...

Here's some pics of my food plot... Pretty much germed the seeds outta the ground short of the pepper plants and tomatoe plants... Also the same day I dropped the seeds the nighbors dog ran throught the plot, and the bare sopts in there happen to be the same areas the dog ran through

but that's why I bought the sprouts and they'll fill it in nicey.. I hope...
podgy
May 29 2008, 03:22 PM
The best growing plant in the plot right now is the corn... I suspect some of the store bought sprouts will get a move on after they settle in...
podgy
May 29 2008, 03:24 PM
More corn and friends (cucumber plant)... I've got two green bean sprouts I'll put in the cage in the back, nad the bald spot in the middle is where the dog incedent occured, I got a few more Ideas for that dead space though..
podgy
May 29 2008, 03:30 PM
Last one... may come back in few weeks with a reup of'em...unless I screw them up

Next year I'll probably make this plot into a cut flower garden... and move the food plot about 20 feet down from where it is now got two fruit trees growing next to thing plot and they will be robbing light from it by next year, and will help me re-work this untamed backyard, and prevent me from using a bunch of brush killer or atleast not nearly as much

Between this plot and the veggies I got growing in the hydro garden behind the house I should have all the veggies i need for awhile... Deffinatley gonna have a surplus of tomatoes this year, and if I stay on top of things a surplus of weed too
