Soo the weather says I got flurries coming in tonight and tomorrow... ALL my neigbors were out planting fresh flowers and such in their yards this weekend... I tried telling them !! nono.gif rofl.gif

I took some left over reflective material from all the switcharoo in my growroom and stapled them into cylinders big enough to fit around my baby buds... I even got buds on my new bushes (pretty sure its off the minature one yes.gif ) anyway I took some other pics this weekend, they are a bit obscure cause well anonmity ph34r.gif but they are of some of the things in my yard that are blooming now.... I got about 50 different dogwoods all over my yard mostly the white blooming ones but I got one really large one that you "just stop and look at" when it blooms and my azaleas (sp?) as manly as I try and be I sure do got alot of pink in my yard rofl.gif
podgy
here's tha babies under the rail... got more marigolds a bloom'n... batchelor buttons are going too... I also bought a few more packs of seed to get on with... so now the little ones are the middle one's and I need to get my arse back to potting'em on rofl.gif So long as every job I do creates another one I have a reason to get out of bed!!! well if I want too...

podgy
Last pic didn't get compressed rofl.gif
still figuring out this new digi

I re-mulched this planter with some darker stuff and it was kinda may way off telling mother nature to fugg off and let me play "god" in my planter bed... rofl.gif That's pretty much what I did this weekend, and am gonna be doing today is mulching... spent 20 bags this weekend and gonna go through atleast 15 more... cry.gif good thing its cheap thumbsup.gif Delpinium in the middle and assylum (sp? but it's one of those dangly types that throws up clusters of small white flowers you see in hanging baskets)

That oriental poppy is called chequers billious, and it's one of my favourites. I love those things..You have some lovely plants. That lilac parrot tulip is really good.

Here is a native butterfly orchid I managed to raise from seed.. One plant from a LOT of seed.. yahoo.gif
podgy
So it's not picture perfect, but rather it's a work in progress rofl.gif
podgy
Here's some other fun n' games I got going on trunk twisting... Always felt it gave a tree some character.... This one is a small pecan tree I've been braiding on for the past year and a half Got a few other I'm working on... Including one that was started then gave up on, and now I"m working on it again... (that one's trickyas it is much bigger and older than the pecan) ...

Ahhh my bad got a bit confused earlier... those are Mustard Greens ... dunno if yah have'em in your parts, but it's traditional southern fare especially for gatherings and holidays in the falkl season.... Basically you take this vegtable and cook it with enough meat and fat that it'll clog your arteries... Kinda cooks up like spinach, and has a bit of a broth to it and a bunch of fatback and ham cut in there and a bit of salsa on top notworthy.gif A true piece of heaven on the tounge when done properly...

billious
That's broken my ponder bubble m8, I was stoned puzzling last night what a cabbage like pecan tree looked like... saw a giant gabbage-like tree on a gardening program last year I thing it was at kew gardens in London, but it was just a masive long stem with a giant cabbage top, but there was nowhere for the nuts to hang pinch.gif

Cool, recipe sounds nice, could I plant normal mustard seeds and this is what they will turn into or is it a different plant? I've got black and yellow mustard seeds

As a lover of roses you might be interested in a book I was reading today it had a recipe for Rose Petal sandwiches, apparently they are delicious, also rose petal ice cream!

The seeds I'm growing are closer to the "kale" side of thge fence I don't think what yah got would be the same thing, a close second to this plant is "collard greens" THey're not afraid of the cloldand I've had a few make it through a winter with a light snow.... But I suspect if you started them know youd have to do it indoors or try to gett'em to make it through the winter where your at unsure.gif for certain... but I suspect if you wanted to give'em a go out side If you got'em going today you could crop'em by october... The trick with these greens is to crop'em before they flower or they get too fiberous... :yup:

E2A: those last two sentances may sound a like a bit of a contradiction, but I realized that judging from your pics you got some skills (better than me yes.gif ) so if yah got the seeds in hand I think you might be able to get a good crop on, just keep'em in the sun and watered when dry... They do get thirsty when they get rooted...
Mr Mullen
Wow look at me in the gardening boards, great thread thumbsup.gif

This is the Dotted Mint I've been growing since early January rofl.gif It's just begining to flower... and here's a few roses and a crepe myrtle that I'm twisting up like a braid of sorts...
